2010 Summer Romance Challenge
End of Challenge Wrap Up
Sorry it's taken me so long to wrap up this challenge. Well, if you've been keeping an eye on my progress you will have seen that I failed miserably at my own challenge! I will be doing this challenge again next year, where I *will* succeed! ;)
I hope you all enjoyed the challenge and as mentioned below there is a little prize! Woo hoo I hear you cry! Well, Random.org has picked a winner from the reviews page and it is....
No. 226
Congratulations! Your prize is a book of your choice from Book Depository. I have emailed you, please reply before 11th Nov with your details. If you do not reply before this time I will pick another winner!
Thanks to all of you who participated - hope to see you next year! :D

As you probably know, I'm more of a Horror/Urban Fantasy chick than one for all that lovey-dovey stuff. But that's what I thought before actually reading it! Now I have dipped my toes into the romance genre, I am loving it! So, to celebrate this new found love of ROMANCE, I have decided to host a short reading challenge: 2010 Summer Romance Challenge! From 1st June ~ 30th Sept. This is a challenge for myself, but would love for you to join in!
There are many sub-genres under the 'romance' genre and I have listed them below. I hope you will join me in what I hope will be a summer of love and discovery! Hehe! Button and guidelines below.

Timeline: 1st June 2010~ 30th Sept 2010. Only books started on June 1st count towards this challenge.
*UPDATE* Added another level.
Details:
1. Anyone can join. You don't need a blog to participate.
2. 4 months, 8 books - that's doable, right? Or if you want to push yourself further double it to 16!!
3. Any book format counts.
5. The books you choose can crossover into other challenges you have on the go.
6. If you decide to participate in this challenge with me, please use the link I have set up below with the button to post on your sidebar, this way others can find their way back to this post and join in the fun. Also, be sure to create a post telling others with a link back to this post so others can join in.
Romance Sub-Genres:
- Historical Romance
- Paranormal Romance
- Science Fiction Romance
- Contemporary Romance
- Romantic Suspense
- Western Romance
- Fantasy Romance
When you sign up under Mr. Linky, please add the DIRECT URL to your Summer Romance Challenge post, NOT your blog URL. This way other participants can read about your progress and give support.

I love this challenge because romance is my favorite genre! I'm ready to start reading! :-)
I'm definitely signing up for this one. 8 books of romance? I'm definitely in!
I've been really curiuos about reading other sub genres in romance, as I've been sticking to paranormal. Count me in!

Count me in! Going to a fun, romantic summer with BITE!
Romance is kind of a burr in my side, so I'm going to break out and find some romance I love! Thanks!
Wow, 16 - now it's a challenge!!! Should be fun. And I blogged about it, so now it's official. LOL. Thanks!

Phew that is a higher level!! I think I'll aim for eight still. Haven't quite picked out all of the reads yet.
I love almost any challenge to read! heehee
And summer is a great time to do this.
Oh yes! Yes! Yes! I'm definitely in. :-)
I love the idea for this challenge, I'm totally going to give it a go!
The button is fab! Thank you for hosting another great challenge! Your giveaways are so awesome and much appreciated!
I think I'm going to stick with 8 as I have a few other challenges.
I am going to blog about this later today...just not at home right now and yesterday after I signed up ended up being a little crazy.
Signing up. Mr. Linky didn't like me much and I double linked :( My bad. I'm going for 16
My first challenge. And just when I'm working my way through the paranormal romance Dark-Hunter series. Gives me added incentive.
I've signed up! So excited!

woO-hoO!
very excited to join u for this challenge :D
sorry for the mistake, I accidentally posted the first time with just my blog url and not the specific post url about the challenge progress :(
Hope u can erase the first one.
I have read my first novel! The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks http://bookreviews.me.uk/the-wedding-by-nicholas-sparks/
Love this challenge!!! Nothing better in the summer than a good romance!
You're missing my favorite genre, inspirational romance. Any chance you might add it? I'd love to blog about your challenge, but my blog focuses on inspy.
Thanks.
Joy
I've linked myself up! Am allowed to make it 8 but then double it if I reach 8 too quickly? Never done a challenge before so I'm not sure how it's going to go!
I so want to accept your challenge but, oh man, I have 50,000 words to write between now and August 15th. Don't think I'll be doing much reading between now and then. Hmm, I could probably read four between the 15th and Sept 1. Would that count? :D
~Olivia
Olivia - Unfortunately not, sorry. The Challenge is either 8 or 16 :)
I love romances too, but am sometimes embarrassed to be seen standing in the romance section at the book store. I think the young guys look at me and think, "Poor old woman has to use books to get love." I just like a really good romance, so I order online! I've read all the Scottish Highlanders I can find. Can anyone suggest some other historical fiction? And make sure to read my review of Wildthorn on my blog, especially if you love Gothic romances.
I'm excited to start this challenge! Romance is my favorite genre!
Hoping I did this right.
My original link was bad, so I added the correct one. Off to see what everyone else is reading. Hope you are doing better
This was a fun summer challenge! Thanks so much for hosting!
Here is what I read:
