This weeks featured author is Laurell K. Hamilton. I am a big fan of Laurell and I LOVE Anita Blake! I have read up to book 11 in the series and I’m eagerly awaiting Skin Trade, which is soon to be released in paperback. I haven’t read the Merry Gentry books yet, but they are on my TBR list.
Laurell is mostly well known for the Anita Blake – Vampire Hunter series, which began in 1993. Anita is a necromancer turned magical investigator and the books are about her cases as well as her relationships with vampires and wereanimals. The Merry Gentry series, which began is 2000, is an urban fantasy in which faeries live in the USA. The main character, Merry, is a faerie princess turned private investigator.
Laurell’s latest book in the Anita Blake series, Skin Trade, was released in the UK in hardback June, 2009. The paperback edition should be in the shops end November, 2009. The latest book in the Meredith Gentry series is Swallowing Darkness, which was released in hardback in 2008, however it will be available in paperback this November. Her forthcoming book, No. 8 in the series, Divine Misdemeanors, is coming December this year.
