Penguin Hardback Classics!

I buy a lot of books, but the ones I treasure the most are my hardback classics collection. I am always on the look out for more, even if I double up on a book I already have, as long as the hardback cover is different I will invariably buy it.

On my travels around the different book shops online, which I search through on a regular basis, I found Penguin’s Fine Books, which includes this set of hardback classics, and oh are they gorgeous!

At the time I looked on Waterstones online, they only had two books, so I have been searching for more via google and found that there are in fact 10 altogether in the set, although you can by individually if you wanted to, but why would you? They are stunning and I want ALL of them!

They are only available exclusively at Waterstone’s and through the Waterstone’s website.

Here’s the full list, with a link to the image of each beautiful book:

Madam Bovary by Gustave Falubert
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
Sense & Sensibility by Jane Austen
Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell
Tess of the D’Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

What an amazing selection of the Greats – I want this collection! It would take pride of place on my bookshelf…..ahhhhh.

What gorgeous covers! I can see why you want the whole set. I'm the same way with different book covers…so what if they're duplicates? Enjoy!

I know what you mean. They're gorgeous. They're available at my bookstore too, and the online Canadian book retailer that goes with it called chapters.indigo.ca . I'm not a big fan of classics right now, but hopefully later on, I won't be so stubborn and learn to love them. =)

About He Who Sings Last, "You're a dead man" is the last of it. I'm going out for a bit, but I'll check back for your review if you're posting it, okay?

And don't worry about the name thing. My actual whole name is long and my last name is hard to pronounce + I don't want to get stalked in real life, so I simply cut it short to Ellen. =) No worries. Some people say that a name is just a name…

Have a nice day, Carolyn. =)

I saw these at Chapters here in Canada, and they're indeed lovely. Hope you get to collect them all. :)

Hi All – I'm so pleased you liked my book find. They are beautiful. Even if I can't find the actual set all in one go (and I've tried) I'm still going to buy them one by one as I come across them. Thanks for coming by and leaving a comment, it's great to hear from other book bloggers :)
