I’m is a 24 years old french Canadian living in Montreal, Quebec. I live with my boyfriend and our 2 cats. I am a lab technologist and I work in an hospital specialized in heart disease and transplant. What is a lab technologist? To make it short we run all tests on body fluids you can possibly imagine, we also do autopsies (it isn’t part of my job personally, but I witnessed 2 in the past). My job is kinda like CSI, Bones etc. but you probably know the show isn’t a good representation of reality =)
BCC: When and why did you start blogging?
My first blog post was released on the blogosphere on June 28th, 2009. I started blogging because I live in a french community and none of my friends reads books in English. When I am excited about something I need to share it! So I decided to share with the rest of the world haha
BCC: Tell us a little about your blog?
My blog’s main focus is fantasy, both adult and YA. I try to post reviews at least once a week. I also host author interviews, and I really like to meet with debut author and give them a spotlight. I think it’s also great for my readers to discover new authors! And the last but not least, you can find giveaways, usually more then once a month!
BCC: How did you come up with the name of your blog?
Haha ok that’s a good one! I have been playing World of Warcraft for 5 years, and the name of my character was Tynga (which was inspired by the asian chick in Dark Angel season 1), everyone was calling me Tynga in voice chat to, so it became my online name =) And since I am all about fantasy, Tynga’s Urban Fantasy Reviews just felt right !
BCC: What’s been the highlight of blogging so far?
I must pick only one? Wa that’s hard! Well discovering new authors and new books is really awesome, but I think the biggest highlight is the blogging community. Everyone is so nice, fun and sharing. I spend hours a day looking at other people’s blog and on twitter to talk with them.
BCC: What was the last book you bought and why?
1 book? There is like 9 books in my last order! I received The Note Book in the mail last week! I bought because I loved the movie so much and I cry every time. Usually books are better then the movies, so I’ll make sure to have Kleenex when I start reading it =)
BCC: What’s your favourite book of all time?
I only started reading a couple of months ago, so I have limited choice but I would pick Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead. I LOVED it. The emotion is great, the characters are awesome and the action is breath-taking!
BCC: What is it you like about the urban fantasy genre?
I love that it is so different from my day-to-day life. Love that fact that nothing is impossible or to good to be true =)
BCC: Who are your favourite authors?
Richelle Mead (read all of her books), Rachel Vincent (also read them all ^^) and Patricia Briggs!
BCC: How do you celebrate Halloween?
My brother-in-law’s birthday is on Halloween so we always throw a party with him!
BCC: Have you had a scary experience or a ghostly encounter?
I didn’t have any major encounters, but I am easily spooked, so I don’t watch any ghost shows late at night or I’ll be insomniac lol. But I remember once when I was about 9 years old, I was with my friend and we were alone at her place. We heard some strange noises in the basement and we were so scared! We head to the kitchen, she picks a butcher knife and she gave me… drum rolls… a fork! She gave me a freaking fork to defend myself against something potentially very dangerous! In fact there was absolutely nothing in the basement, but I never got over the fork thing lol.
Thanks Cindy! If you haven’t been to Cindy’s blog, then please stop by!
