In My Mailbox (#15)

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.

After last month being dedicated to my All Hallow’s Eve event, it’s back to my usual IMM post. This week is a biggy! I promised that I would share all the books I received and bought throughout October, but remember, this is a month of books and books that I didn’t manage to get round to for my AHE event. I haven’t included a synopsis, as it would have taken me ages but I will from next week. I’ve added the covers too as some of them are just luscious!

For Review:

• Fallen by Lauren Kate (ARC – Random House Childrens Books)
• Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick (Simon and Schuster)

The Cookie Club looks kind of lost in there with all those other books! I would hate to see a month's worth of my books all in one place. You had a great October!

Great list! I am adding the Georgia Evans books to my TBR list cuz I always forget to do so!

What exactly is the point of all this? How many books do you seriously read a month?

This isn't jealousy on my part (most of those books don't appeal to me), but I find that quite distasteful. Not all of those books could have been picked with love and care. It's like some kind of machine.

Amy: How is it distasteful for Book City Chick to list how many books she has, bought or received? If you check most book blogs, they announce how many books they get and the amount they read. I am lucky, because I have many contacts in the publishing industry and I can get about 25 books in a week. And also read near 20 books month. Am I distasteful also?

Reply

SarahT November 1, 2009 at 5:32 pm

@Amy Some people read faster than others. If I had a little more time, I could easily get through 20+ in a month.

@BookChickCity Great haul! Enjoy them.

Jaime November 1, 2009 at 5:35 pm

@Amy,
This is HER blog and what she chooses to post, read, review, et al is her decision and her business. So if you deem this to be distasteful, that is your issue. Don't look at the IMM Memes if you don't like to see what people receive.

I receive a TON of books myself and if I have time to do an IMM post, it might be a month's posting. One time I had over 50 books to post because I scored some awesome sales. I also read anywhere from 2-5 books a week.

Wow you lucky thing! Ignore Amy, it IS jealousy on her part and I don't think she realised that the books arrived over a month. And even if you did get them in only a week, who the hell cares!
