In My Mailbox (#17)

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren

I had quite a good book week. A couple for review and as always I bought some. I think I'm going to have to go on a book buying ban for a bit as I have so, so many to read it's ridiculous. But if I see a book I really want I just can't help myself - I have no self control. Anyone have any ideas how to stop buying books??

Anyway, here are the books I received this week...

For Review:

• My Soul To Take by Rachel Vincent (Harleguinn Teen)
• Sweet Inspiration by Penny Watson (The Wild Rose Press) - this was sent by the author as a PDF. I don't usually accept PDF's or Ebooks as I prefer to read the actual book. I'm not good at reading on a computer and to be honest it diminishes my enjoyment of the book, but as I am having a Christmas Week, I thought this would be a great light read for the holidays.

Title: My Soul To Take
Author: Rachel Vincent
Reading Level: Young Adult
Publisher: Harlequinn Teen
Publication Date: 1 Aug 2009
Paperback: 279 pages

Summary (Goodreads)

She doesn't see dead people, but…

She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally.

Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next…

Title: Sweet Inspiration
Author: Penny Watson
Publisher: The Wild Rose Press
Publications Date: 2 Dec 2009
Version: Ebook

Summary (Goodreads)

What if the legend of Santa Claus is in fact, true? What if Santa has five big strapping sons who help him run his empire? Five single, sexy sons looking for romance...

Nicholas Klaus is a master pastry chef, a strict disciplinarian, and the eldest son of the legendary Santa Claus. One look at café owner Lucy Brewster sends him into an unexpected tailspin of lusty desires. When Lucy is injured, Nicholas makes a decision that catapults both of their lives into turmoil ....

Lucy Brewster, the free-spirited proprietor of Sweet Inspiration, has a flair for concocting sugary confections but no time for adventure. She gets more than she bargained for when she awakens in the North Pole...rambunctious elves, a fitness-obsessed Santa, and the man of her dreams. Does she have what it takes to become the next Mrs. Klaus?

Bought:

• Friday Night Bites by Chloe Neill
• The Accidental Demon Slayer by Angie Fox
• Grimspace by Ann Aguirre
• Wanderlust by Ann Aguirre

Won:

• Anyone Who Had A Heart by Mia Dolan (Ebury Press - FB Comp)
• Doubleblind by Ann Aguirre (Twitter Comp)

As I had won a copy of Doubleblind from Ann via a Twitter comp, I went out and bought the first two in the series. They have had great reviews from lots of bloggers so I'm really excited to read them.

So, what did you get in your mailbox this week?

I'm really not sure there's a way to stop buying books... I try to from time to time, but I always find more excuses to buy more!

I really enjoyed My Soul to Take, so I hope you will too. I have Grimspace to read, but haven't gotten to it yet either!

I share your predicament - too many books already and yet I keep buying new and new ones, even though I know I'll probably never get to read them! It's an addiction, I tell you! ;)
