New Blogs on the Block: Jenni from Falling off the Shelf

Jenni
I started blogging in June of 2009. The real reason I started was because I was starting to forget how I felt about the books I have read in the past. I don’t really like to re-read things because I know there are so many more books in the world to get through, so by blogging about my feelings I can just go back and relive the feelings through my own words.
2. Tell us a little about your blog?
Well, the reason I named my blog Falling Off The Shelf, is because basically… I have so many books that half the time they truly are falling off the shelf! I review a lot of different books at my blog, but my absolute favorite genres are Paranormal, Urban Fantasy, and Young Adult. Since starting my blog, I have dived into a few different genres, and have read some titles that I normally never would have read. I always write honest reviews, regardless of whether I like a title or not. In fact, I will even write a review if I can’t get into it, but while I am honest, I don’t bash the work.

3. What do you think is the best feature on your blog?
I’d probably have to say that my reviews are the best feature. I participate in some weekly memes, but I don’t always have the time for them. Being as how it is a review site, I try my hardest to make my reviews the best feature of my blog. I do throw in a few giveaways here and there, but try not to overpower the blog with them.
4. What’s been the highlight of blogging so far?
The highlight for me is when an author finds the time to stop by my blog and leave a comment on one of my reviews. The first time this happened to me I was sooo excited! It’s still extremely exciting for me each time it happens as well. I like to see that not only is my opinion getting as far as other readers, but the authors themselves appreciate what I am doing.
5. Tell us a little bit about yourself
Well honestly I’m a bit of a boring person. I work full-time at Walmart, but I would rather stay at home each day and read. I’m engaged to my first and only love, and we’ve been together for over 7 years now. We have a dog named Virgo, and she’s like our child. In my free time I read a lot, and watch movies with my fiance. I rarely go out, except on Monday nights to play Texas Holdem at the local bar, where they run a tournament. See, told you I was boring, lol.

6. What’s your favourite book of all time?
This is honestly a hard question. There are so many books out there that have really caught my eye, and hit a nerve for me. I can’t just choose one, but I will say that the work of Nicholas Spark has played a big role in my life. Each of his novels has hit me on an emotional level, and I have loved each and every one.
7. Who are your favourite authors?
Nicholas Sparks, Kelley Armstrong, Patricia Briggs, Anne Rice, Christina Dodd. There are so many others, I couldn’t possibly name them all because we’d probably run out of band-width, lol.
8. How many books are on your tbr list right now?
Wow, I have tons of books on my TBR pile. I usually keep track of them in a spreadsheet, and as of right now if I were to count all of my review books, and personal TBR books…there would probably be close to 600 there. Yeah, no joke. I have an addiction, and may need to start going to book collectors annonymous classes.

9. Where do you see your blog in a year from now?
Well being as how I have already done so well for myself in such a short amount of time, I see my blog being a smashing hit! At the moment, my blog doesn’t show as many reviews as I would like. I am actually holding a few back, so I can have a rotating stock of them to post on a daily basis. So far, it’s not working as well as I would like, because of upcoming blog tours and a few titles that were requested to be reviewed right away. Hopefully by this time next year you’ll be able to stop at Falling Off The Shelf and read a review a day!
Thanks Jenni!

I agree, someone needs to start a book collectors annonymous, I'll be one of the first to join. My TBR pretty large, but not as large as yours. But hey, you always have a book on hand, right?
