On My Wishlist is a weekly meme hosted by me, which will be posted every Wednesday. It allows us to share the books we haven't bought yet but are waiting to be bought and devoured. If you are anything like me then your wishlist is getting longer by the day! If you would like to take part and have your own 'On My Wishlist' post then you can find more info here. (This post was inspired by the fab In My Mailbox by Kristi at The Story Siren).

I read the first book in the Vatta's War series (Trading in Danger) summer 2008 and I really enjoyed it. I'm not sure why I didn't continue with the series as it has a really gutsy heroine, which is my kind of chick ;) I think the cover is awesome too!

But a threat emerges that challenges even her sharp wits and, if she survives, could leave the military forever in her debt ...

This looks like such a good series. Love the cover, love the synopsis, so really should buy it asap! I have actually noticed when I look through all the books I want to buy that most are from series and mostly series I haven't even started yet. Will there ever be enough time to read them all? This is the first book in the Mortal Instruments series.
Title: City of Bones

Genre: Urban Fantasy
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Publication Date: 2007
Paperback: 485 pages
Summary (Goodreads)
When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder--much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Clary knows she should call the police, but it's hard to explain a murder when the body disappears into thin air and the murderers are invisible to everyone but Clary.
Equally startled by her ability to see them, the murderers explain themselves as Shadowhunters: a secret tribe of warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. Within twenty-four hours, Clary's mother disappears and Clary herself is almost killed by a grotesque demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know...

This is book one of the Jane Jamerson series and I just love this cover! (It's all about covers this week obviously!) To be honest it's what drew me to the series to begin with. All the covers are of this design. After reading the synopsis though, they sound pretty good too!
Title: Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs
Author: Molly Harper
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Publisher: Pocket Star
Publication Date: 31 May 2009
Paperback: 355 pages
Summary (Goodreads)
Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed twenty-five dollars in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead. And thanks to the mysterious stranger she met while chugging neon-colored cocktails, she wakes up with a decidedly unladylike thirst for blood.
Jane is now the latest recipient of a gift basket from the Newly Undead Welcoming Committee, and her life-after-lifestyle is taking some getting used to. Her recently deceased favorite aunt is now her ghostly roommate. She has to fake breathing and endure daytime hours to avoid coming out of the coffin to her family. She's forced to forgo her favorite down-home Southern cooking for bags of O negative. Her relationship with her sexy, mercurial vampire sire keeps running hot and cold. And if all that wasn't enough, it looks like someone in Half Moon Hollow is trying to frame her for a series of vampire murders. What's a nice undead girl to do?
