BCC's Top Ten Reads 2009

2009 has been an interesting year for me regarding books. I've read a lot more YA than I have done in the past and my reading list is pretty eclectic. I've read crime, horror, fantasy, science fiction, romance, chick-lit, urban fantasy and paranormal romance.
As you know, my blog is now pretty much dedicated to speculative fiction (with a sprinkling of crime and romance). You will see this change more in 2010. For now, my list of top ten reads is basically a list of all my favourite books I've read in 2009.
TOP TEN READS 2009
1. Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman

2. Hell's Belles by Paul Magrs

3. Fallen by Lauren Kate

4. Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

5. Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill

6. Monster Republic by Ben Horton

7. Conjugal Rites by Paul Magrs

8. Storm Born by Richelle Mead

9. Hex in High Heels by Linda Wisdom

10. Frostbitten by Kelley Armstrong

So there you have it. My top ten reads 2009. I wonder what 2010 will hold? Can't wait to find out :)

Great list! I've just read Hus, Hush of the books on your list but I have a few of the others on my wishlist :) A couple of them were unfamiliar books to me, I have to take a closer look at them!
Nice list. You've got me wanting to read Fallen and Hush, Hush even more :P
Great List! I am definitely putting Chloe Neill's books on my 2010 tbr list! :)
Okay, that's it - I am definitely picking up Monster Republic just as soon as I can get to a bookstore.
I tend to stick to YA so I haven't read all of the ones in your list, but I really liked Fallen and Hush, Hush, so I think those are great choices. When I'm next in the mood for a non-YA book (it does happen!) I'll come back to your list for some recommendations.
Great blog! I am so glad I found it. I know I'll have a great time here. And now I am going to join a few challenges...

I've been wondering if I should read Frost Bitten and it seems that I most certainly should. I loved Fallen and Hush Hush too. Great picks. Malorie Blackman is awesome!
Great list - most I have not read which means I have new recs!! Some Girls Bite made my list too :)
I have heard really good things about all those books - glad they made your list of the year...

Great list. I have Fallen on my list. Need to get it soon.
People are killing me with these top 10 lists, I just keep adding more and more to my wishlist. Guess its a good thing I got all these GCs for Christmas. :) I really enjoyed 'Some Girls Bite' too.
I hardly read YA so many titles are familiar but I haven't read them. BTW, I dig the cover of Richelle Mean, wow, what a chick on the cover!
Fantastic list. I've read and loved Hush, Hush and Frostbitten and can't wait to read Hells Bells which I will get to after the first of the year.
Great list of books! I just ordered the first book in Paul Magrs series so I can "catch" up to Conjugal Rites! And now I'm going to have to add a few more! :D
Great list :) I loved Hush, Hush!
I think they are right on with the top10
Excellent list! I've read a few, have a few in my TBR piles, and will definitely be checking out the rest! Love lists like this as I always find great new books to read. Thanks! :)
As a reader with limitd time Top 10lists are great as you can pretty much guarantee that any book from it is worth your time (given you and the reviewer have similar tastes of course. I'm adding Fallen and Hush to my reading list. THanks for posting.
Oh well, I haven't read any of those... *Shame shame...* ! I love the cover for Conjugal Rites and am intrigued by Noughts & Crosses... :)
Oh, and here's a little belated Christmas present :

Hush, Hush made my list too!
great list. I've read some of those and loved Hex in High heels
I haven't read any of these yet but I really want to read Fallen and Frostbitten.
It was a mixed bag in reviews for Fallen and Hush, Hush but I really enjoyed both as well.
