New Blogs on the Block: Elie from EllzReadz

Elie
1. When and why did you start blogging?
I created my blog in June, although the first post wasn't actually until July of 2009. I love to read and talk about the great stories I discover. My family and friends, especially my husband the gamer, got tired of hearing me carry on, so I decided to create a blog.
2. Tell us a little about your blog?
First are the reviews. The majority of the books I read are either UF, PNR, or YA. I have been trying to branch out lately and read some other genres too. Second is the interviews. I love interviewing authors. I have found that learning more about the author makes me want to read their books even more. This is also a great way to introduce my favorite authors to other readers. Third is the giveaways. Who doesn't love to win free books? This is a great way for me to share some of my favorites. I love emailing someone and telling them they won!

3. Are there any features on your blog you would like to highlight?
I am still working on new features. Lately, I have been receiving emails to review books. While I would love to, I just can't review every one. I started a post called Melting-Pot Mondays. It allows me to feature those books I cannot review. Another new post I have been running is called Kidz Kornerz. I am a Mom of two and I am constantly looking for great kids books. Whether we are moms, sisters, aunts or neighbors, we all have a special little one in our lives. Why not share some great books with them too!
4. What's been the high point of blogging so far?
That's an easy one. The people and the books. I have been introduced to tons of great people through blogging. Ahhh, books, there are so many great titles I would have never even picked up if I hadn't heard about them on a blog.
5. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Once upon a time, I was an elementary school teacher. I decided to put the career on hold to raise my two incredible kids. Now, I help my husband with our business (manufacturing), read and blog way too much. I am obsessed with the mail and Victoria's Secret lotion. Some day I may even write my own book.
6. What's your favorite book of all time?
I don't have one, either that or I can't bring myself to choose. Not sure which one.
7. Who are your favorite authors?
There are so many. Here are a few... Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison, Stephanie Meyer, John Twelve Hawks, Janet Evanovich, Michelle Rowen and Patricia Briggs. The list grows daily.
8. How many books are on your tbr list right now?
(HA) Ok, so I literally do not have a bookshelf. All the books are stacked in my closet. Alright, the grand total is... 110. That is just books that I have. My library list is a whole other story. Is there a 1-800 number? Actually, most of them are older titles. I try to collect a series before I start reading it (very little patience).
9. Where do you see your blog in a year from now?
A year from now I hope to have more readers, bigger contests, and a lot more titles under my review list.
Event: 12 Blogs of Christmas - This event includes 11 other bloggers and starts 12th of Dec. Check it out HERE.
Thanks Elie!
