On My Wishlist #6

On My Wishlist is a weekly meme hosted by me, which will be posted every Wednesday. It allows us to share the books we haven't bought yet but are waiting to be bought and devoured. If you are anything like me then your wishlist is getting longer by the day! If you would like to take part and have your own 'On My Wishlist' post then you can find more info here. (This post was inspired by the fab In My Mailbox by Kristi at The Story Siren).

This series sounds brilliant. I love strong female "kick-arse" protagonists but have only read them in Urban Fantasy, so I'm excited about Parrish Plessis and want to read all about her adventures in the Science Fiction genre. I want the first book in the series asap!

Nylon Angel (#1)
Marianne De Pierres (Orbit)
Publication Date: 31 Jan 2004
Paperback: 320 pages
Genre: Science Fiction

Summary (Goodreads)

In a world where the rich live behind the safety of a giant fortress wall and everyone else can go to hell, Parrish Plessis has learnt some useful survival tactics. Like don't cross Jamon Mondo - unless you want to be dead by the morning. But heck, what's a girl supposed to do when the one chance she may have of escaping from his grubby, stinking paws presents itself? Anyway, it's hard to be a saint in a city, and Parrish Plessis is sick of doing what she's told. Tonight, she's going to take her chance. Because she can't face tomorrow. NYLON ANGEL is the first Parrish Plessis novel. She will be back. When you've met her, you'll understand why.

This looks like another awesome series by Marianne de Pierres: Sentients of Orion. It sounds very different to the series above but just as good. I love the covers too.

Dark Space (#1)
Marianne de Pierres (Orbit)
Publication Date: 3 May 2007
Paperback: 432 pages
Genre: Science Fiction

Summary (Goodreads)

While drifting in space, lost, due to navigational failure, a mineral scout discovers God. When word gets out, academics from the studiums across Orion scramble to gain the Entity's favour. However, not all the sentients of Orion hold this 'god' in awe...

This looks like a really fun read and has been on my radar for a while. I love all the covers and can't wait to get my hands on the first book in the Silver Dragon series!

Playing with Fire (#1)
Katie MacAlister (Signet)
Publication Date: 24 July 2008
Paperback: 352 pages
Genre: Fantasy Romance

Summary (Goodreads)

Gabriel Tauhou, wyvern of the silver dragons, has found the one woman who can withstand his fire. Too bad May Northcott is already bound to a demon lord. But when the demon orders May to steal one of Gabriel’s treasures—an immensely important relic of all dragonkin— Gabriel has to decide which to protect: his love or his dragons.

I really like this meme :) I'm hoping after the holidays I'll be able to post my own. Those Mr. Linkys are dangerous! My wishlist is already out of control :)
