Summary
Sixteen-year-old Hailey Tarbell can’t wait for the day she’ll leave Gypsum, Missouri, far behind, taking only four-year-old Chub, the developmentally-delayed little boy her cruel drug-dealing grandmother fosters for the state money. But when a freak accident in gym class leaves a girl in critical condition, Hailey feels drawn to lay her hands on the injured girl and an astonishing healing takes place. Before Hailey can understand her new powers, a beautiful stranger shows up…just in time to save her and Chub from hired killers. A desperate race begins, with Hailey as the ultimate prize: there are those who will stop at nothing to harness her gifts to create an undefeatable army of the undead. Now it is up to Hailey and a small but determined family of healers to stand up to the unbelievable and face the unthinkable.

I think the cover art on a novel is really important to how much attention it'll get from a reader and to its overall success!

Thank you so much for including the cover on your blog! I just about fell out of my chair when I saw it, I was so excited. I guess you guys probably know that authors don't always have much say in the cover, so I think I was extremely, extremely lucky to end up with Stephanie as the artist who designed it.
One interesting little note – originally Hailey had golden-brown eyes in the book (like my daughter!) but when my editor showed me this cover she asked if I would consider changing them. Eye color is not important to the story so I was delighted to do so, in order to match the cover.
thanks again, so fun to see it here!

Hi Sophie – You're welcome! I really love the cover and I'm glad you decided to go with the coloured eyes as they are really striking with the dark hair. I also love the matching font. Looking forward to reading the book too, it sounds great!
