New Blogs on the Block runs each Saturday and highlights newbie book bloggers who have been blogging for under six months. If you want to know more about this feature then go HERE. Today I welcome the wonderful…

The Book Vixen

1. When and why did you start blogging?

I started blogging on August 21st of this year (2009). I started blogging because I found out there was a book-blogging community and I enjoy reading. I wanted to share my love of reading and my love for book covers. I heart book covers! I’m a total cover-whore.

2. Tell us a little about your blog?

The Book Vixen is my little place in the web. I only post book related stuff on my blog (nothing personal). I write about what appeals to me. I do book reviews on every book I read, whether it be good or bad. I’m honest in my books reviews, maybe a little too honest. I participate in the Teaser Tuesday meme and the *brand new* On My Wishlist meme hosted by Book Chick City! *yay!!* What a great idea BTW! *aw thanks* I can just see my TBR getting longer and longer and longer… I should make you organize my Goodreads from now on! LOL

3. Are there any features on your blog you would like to highlight?

I have participated in the Blog With Bite review group. I did 2 book reviews with them in October: Covet and Intertwined. It’s fun and having a deadline gets my arse in gear to read. I will definitely be doing it again.

4. What’s been the high point of blogging so far?

Meeting fellow bookworms! I didn’t realize that so many people (including teens) like to read. Another high point is finding new books to read. Although, that is doing some major damage to my TBR list…

5. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I am 30-year old vixen, wife and mom of 2 kids (4 1/2 and 2 1/2). I take the dust jacket off the book while I’m reading it so it won’t get damaged. I prefer trade paperback over mass market paperback. I don’t drink coffee (I can’t even stand the smell of coffee beans). I live off chocolate. I work full time, which is a drag because it cuts into reading time. I read parts of the Twilight Saga at work (shhhh! don’t tell anyone).

But I wasn’t always an avid reader. I didn’t start to read for fun until I was 22! It all started with a little book series called Harry Potter. I had heard about it. I had seen the books everywhere. I thought to myself ‘what’s the big deal?’. What made me try it out was seeing a grown woman (she was older than me, probably in her 40s at the time) holding one of the books. I asked her what all the fuss was about and she told me to just read the first book and I would see for myself. Needless to say, I got my own copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and I was hooked. And yes, I have finished all 7 books.

6. What’s your favourite book of all time?

Just one? Geez, that’s a tough question! I’m going to say… The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. That was the first Nicholas Sparks novel I read and I’ve been hooked on his work ever since. That man has a way with your emotions! I need a box of tissues when I read his books. I’m waiting for him to come to CA for a book signing so I can hug the man.

7. Who are your favourite authors?

Nicholas Sparks, Dean Koontz, J.R. Ward, and Stephenie Meyer.

8. How many books are on your tbr list right now?

Let me check… 322 and still growing. Of that, I own 59 books that I need to read and have 71 eBooks on my iTouch. Thank goodness for Goodreads! The OCD part of me loves being able to create shelves and organizing every single book into a category.

9. Where do you see your blog in a year from now?

I hope to still be up and running. I hope I won’t have scared everyone away. LOL. Really, I hope to have read more books next year than I did this year. In turn, I hope I’m able to post more book reviews.

Thanks Book Vixen!

BV you don't like coffee? I'm a Starbucks addict! Despite this I still heart you.

I used to love reading Dean Knootz then I found paranormal romance and as they say the rest is history. My fav has to the The Taking, I think it's like one of the only ones not set in Orange County ::Sigh::.

Cute interview, thanks BCC!

@Larissa – *waves back* Hi :D

@Gale Laure – Thanks for stopping by :D

@The Queen Bee – I live on chocolate. I don't need food LOL

@StephanieD – 322 books on my TBR *list* (books I want to read). I probably have 70ish books on my TBR *pile*. Still a lot. LOL

@LovesSam – and our love for Shiver!! And I agree, you need to get a recording of him saying "hallo kitten" and put it on the blog!! Great idea!

@K.C. – nope, don't like coffee. Chocolate gets me thru the day ;) I have to admit, I haven't read a Dean Koontz in about 2 years. Like you, once I found PNR, the rest was history. I can't get enough of the stuff!!

@Lina – Thanks for stopping by and checking me out on BCC's blog :D

@Cleverly Inked – I love yours too! :D

Great interview! Hard to believe the Book Vixen is a new blogger, as her blog rocks! REally enjoy this feature, as it highlights so many great new blogs.

Don't let anyone pressure you into drinking coffee BV! While I like the smell okay, can't stand the taste. Hot tea or hot chocolate are much better! :)
