Jen
1. When and why did you start blogging?
I began my reading review blog in October 2009. I can’t believe I hadn’t thought to do one sooner! I was doing a search for a book one day and somehow ran upon J Kaye’s blog and was so totally inspired by her that I wanted to begin one of my own and Jen’s Book Talk was born!
2. Tell us a little about your blog?
It’s kinda girly in appearance but it caters to a wide range of reading genre because I don’t have any one in particular I stick to. I do book tours, giveaways, and guest blogs mostly but I’m constantly tinkering and tankering with it trying to keep it fresh and appealing so pop on over; I’ll leave the light on for ya!
3. Are there any features on your blog you would like to highlight?
I have a little bit of this and that. Pretty much just a basic book review blog but I have added a new feature in where I have started reviewing movies I watch now as well. I started a monthly giveaway game called “Beat The Clock” where I post a simple game or task and give you a time limit to complete it and whoever can beat the clock gets placed in a drawing to win a book of their choice and I have another cool giveaway challenge project that I have not had time to really sit down and pound all the details out yet but hope to get that started this month {January} So be sure to be on the look out this month for that..hopefully sometime this upcoming week.
4. What’s been the high point of blogging so far?
The biggest high point for me so far is having authors email me or post a hello on my blog even ones who I have never heard of until then! It just makes my day! Also I enjoy making new blog friends and have made quite a few thru opening my review blog. I spend ALOT of time on my computer and it’s just nice to be able to get to know so many persons I otherwise would not have.
5. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a bookworm at heart. My mom said even when I was crib age I preferred “reading” the big Sears catalog over having a dolly to play with. She said I would sling a doll out of the crib but would sit there for hours at a time and plunder thru a book!
I am in my late 30′s, married to my best friend, and we live in a little small town in South Carolina. We weren’t blessed with any children but we do have 5 fluffballs who we treat as kids {Pip, Monkey, Squirty, Flossy, and Trixy}. Plus my sister shares her adorable baby girl and boy with us. They are our heart. When I’m not reading or bloggin I enjoy watching horror movies, cooking new dishes, playing online games, photography, and digi-scrapping.
6. What’s your favourite book of all time?
This is a real tough question. lol My all time favorite childhood book/s were Green Eggs & Ham, and The Little House Books. As an adult though my favorite book changes almost every week! At the moment my favorite books are The Sookie Stackhouse Series!
7. Who are your favourite authors?
Charlaine Harris, Mia King, Nora Roberts, James Patterson, Dean Koontz, Carrie Vaughn, Debbie Macomber, Stephanie Meyer, Laurell K. Hamilton, and loads more! We’d be here all day if I named all of them!
8. How many books are on your tbr list right now?
Easily 200 – 300 and I still have like 500 or more on various wish lists that I have not even gotten yet! I have crates of books and still can’t pass up new ones that catch my eye! I am so bad!
9. Where do you see your blog in a year from now?
I see it better organized hopefully! {fingers crossed} I hope by this time next year to have at least 100 reviews posted if not more. That is my goal for myself anyhow.
Thanks Jen!
