Book Blogger Appreciation Week 2010: Registration

I really enjoyed last years BBAW - it was fun and I 'met' lots of great bloggers. It was also a bit different from this years 'registration' in that everyone could nominate anyone, I didn't have to nominate myself like this year. I was totally blown away last year, having only been blogging for two months at the time, at being nominated for Best New Blog, alas I wasn't short-listed but it was still a great honour.

This year I feel a bit funny - having to nominate myself - it's difficult, especially when it comes to the features category of 'Best Written Blog' - but there are times when I like what I've written and feel kind of proud of myself, so I thought, why not - what have I got to lose ;)

I'm a bit disappointed that there are no "fun" awards this year like 'Most Extravagant Giveaways', 'Best Meme or Carnival Event' or 'Best Blog Design' - I loved those awards and it made BBAW extra fun. Oh well...

So, as requested by those behind BBAW, I have selected the posts that best reflect my blog *well I hope I have* It was really difficult, but I think I'm now happy with my selection.

Award for Niche Category: 'Best Eclectic Book Blog'
This blog doesn’t specialize in any one book genre. It is known for consistently excellent reviews, recommendations, analyses, and other content in a variety of genres. [Each blogger who would like to be considered for these awards must provide 5 posts for consideration: 3 posts must be reviews, recommendations, or analyses of a specific title; 2 posts are up to the nominated blogger.]

Review 2: Wicked Enchantment by Anya Bast (Paranormal Romance)

Chosen 2 - Blog Promotion: Yay or Nay? (Discussion Post)

Award for Feature Category: Best Written Book Blog
This blog is consistently well-written, clear, and engaging, no matter what the subject. [Note that nominated bloggers for this award are required to submit 3 reviews, recommendations, or analyses of a specific title; 2 are up to the nominated blogger.]

Review 1: Mr Monster by Dan Wells (YA Horror)

Review 2: Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase (Historical Romance)

Review 3: Hell's Bells by Paul Magrs (Paranormal Mystery)

Chosen 2 - Blog Promotion: Yay or Nay? (Discussion Post)

Award for Feature Category: Best Author Interviews
This blogger does his or her research and asks the questions no one else does. These interviews are top-notch. Note that this award reflects the quality of the interviews, not the popularity of the person being interviewed. [Note that nominated bloggers for this award are required to submit 4 interviews; 1 post is left to their discretion.]

Interview 1: Kelley Armstrong

Interview 2: Alexandra Sokoloff

Interview 3: Malorie Blackman

Interview 4: Conrad Williams

I agree, one of my fave posts of yours was about genre misconceptions. Well put and I hope you win.

How exciting. I've got everything crossed!

My favourites are your genre misconception post too & the Kelley Armstrong interview is excellent.
