The Blogger’s Bookshelf is a regular fortnightly feature here at Book Chick City. It’s where we get to tour each others bookshelves… and drool a little
I can’t help but love these kind of posts, being kinda nosy an’ all, however it always ends up with me being completely green with envy! There are some great posts coming up, so I hope you enjoy. You can view the full schedule HERE.
Today I welcome Kenda from Lurv a la Mode…

Hi, my name is Kenda Montgomery, but I’m more known as KMont in my corner of the interwebs. I’ve been blogging since January 2008. I started for two reasons. One, I’d had a baby a few years prior, and while this comes with all kinds of fun and exciting new adventures for Mom, it doesn’t really leave any time just for Mom. Two, my job got pretty stressful right about the same time and in those few years between the start of that and my blog, I realized I was coming to hate the job. I needed something to ground me. Something just for me. Me, me, me. I needed to get my reading mojo back.

See, there’s a lot of me in books, a lot of books in me. Or, rather, they speak to me. What, don’t you hear the voices too? No? Sure you do. Because they make us love them, they makes us want to keep them. They encourage us to buy bookshelves for them. They like to go places with us, to the office or the grocery store (I’ve been told this is in case the lines are long.) They like to sleep in these places we root out for them: top of the refrigerator, under the stairs, beside the bed – IN the bed. But we’ll stop right there.

The thing is, these books are voracious for space. They roam all over the place and makes stacks and piles. They congregate in areas where they think I like to lounge or work the best. Why, I’ve even seen a few sneak into my car when they thought I wasn’t looking (Something about liking to “hang there heads out the window”, to feel the breeze. I dunno, I think they’re crazy but kind of cute, too.) I’ve been told the most coveted spot is beside my computer when I’m working. I’ve only asked that they not tussle over who gets this coveted spot while I’m around. It kind of freaks me out.
They hate it when I clean and detest it when I organize. It gets their little favorite spot system all whack-a-doo. But folks, lemme tell you, I was so proud when I told them they were going to be on a lovely blogger’s featured guest spot. You wouldn’t believe how well behaved they were all of a sudden. The piles even neatened up a little!
So on behalf of myself and my crazy little book menagerie, thank you, Book Chick City, for having us on your wonderful digs today! I’m just glad this crazy bunch behaved long enough to do so. *wipes brow*

Thank you, everyone for stopping by here and for checking out my blog.
Last week was a slow one for me, hoping this week will pick up with a new review or two. Have a great week, everyone!

kmont's bookshelf/piles remind me of my own books! (except for the fact that I do not have that beautiful big bookshelf she had) it's nice to know that someone else's books seem to follow her around like an eager puppy too. loved this post!
