Month in Review: July '10

July wasn't as good as June with regards to the weather - it feels as though Autumn is on it's way although it's just hitting August. Sadly, that's what England is like - we have a couple of week's good weather and it goes away - but it's was a great couple of weeks *sigh* I do love the sunshine...

I was thinking of doing a vlog to go along with my Month in Review posts. I thought it may be a nice idea to talk about my month, show you some of the books I've received for review that I'm eager to read and also some of the books I've bought - would this be something you'd be interested in seeing? If you didn't want a vlog, would you still like a list of some of the books I've received/bought? I stopped In My Mailbox as I thought a post every week was a bit much, but once a month sounds good - what do you think?

Anyway, July wasn't a great month with regards to the amount of books read - life just got in the way unfortunately... but I did read some amazing books!

Book Chick City News

• I had my One Year Blogiversary in July, which was really great - can't believe I've been blogging a year already!

• My new series, 'The Blogger's Bookshelf' & 'Books We Love' featured some fab guests in June. Go check them out!

Noa, Day & Kitt from Paperback Dolls
Kenda from Lurv al la Mode

Jenny from Wondrous Reads
Kate from Babbling About Books

• I attended a Simon & Schuster publishing event at the beginning of July, which was a lot of fun - was also given lots of yummy books. To read about my time at the event click here.

• I managed to read a total of 6 books in July. The target I have been setting myself is 10 but I wasn't even close this month... I'm having a bit of a rough time trying to get books finished in a timely manner, life getting in the way as usual - let's hope things are better in August.

Total Books Read/Reviewed: 8
  1. Shadow Bound by Erin Kellison (7/10)
  2. Friday Night Bites by Chloe Neill (5/10)
  3. Unholy Magic by Stacia Kane (10/10)
  4. City of Ghosts by Stacia Kane (10/10)
  5. My Dangerous Duke by Gaelen Foley (6/10)
  6. Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler (6/10)
  7. Original Sin by Allison Brennan (Laura) (4/10)
  8. Always a Bridesmaid by Elaine Hopper (Laura) (5/10)

Favourite book read in July: It's a tie and an easy pick this week! Unholy Magic and City of Ghosts by Stacia Kane - this series is fantastic and I can't wait to read book four, unfortunately I'm going to have to wait a year...

Hhhmmm, a vloggie wrap-up. Sounds good :)

My July took a dump reading wise since reading Voyager, #3 in the Outlander series took just about the whole month to read!! Just 2 books for me :(

Wow! A very productive month indeed! :)

I would happy trade your weather for ours. It's been sooooo hot and humid! I am very ready for autumn! :)

Just stopping by all the blogs I follow – have been out of town and am feeling out of touch. Thought I would check in with everyone! Stop by The Wormhole if you get a chance!

I don't watch vlogs. I typically have a movie streaming for my kids to watch and I just can't spare the bandwidth.

Here's my month in review.

We are having a non-summery month here in San Francisco so I feel your pain! Have a great August!

I don't really care for vlogs, but that is me personally!

It looks like you had a great month, even if you didn't read as much as you would have liked.

IT SEEM THE CONSENSUS IS TO NOT DO A VLOG - I ACTUALLY LIKE THEM, SO I WILL HAVE A LITTLE THINK! THANKS FOR STOPPING BY GUYS!

I like vlogs every once in a while. It is nice to see the person behind the blog. It would be good to include a list of things you talk about in the vlog though, for people who do not have the time to watch it. And showing us your books received this month would be nice :)
