On My Wishlist (#36)

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It's where I list all the books I desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. It's also an event that you can join in with too - Mr Linky is always at the ready for you to link your own 'On My Wishlist' post. If you want to know more click here.

I found this series on another blog and it sounds pretty good - not loving the cover though.

After Dark (Harmony #1)
Jayne Castle (Jove)
Publication Date: Sept 2000 (US)
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Goodreads Summary:

Life is tough these days for Lydia Smith, licensed para-archaeologist. Seriously stressed-out from a nasty incident in an alien tomb, she is obliged to work in Shrimpton’s House of Ancient Horrors, a very low-budget museum. She has a plan to get her career back on track, but it isn’t going well. Stuff keeps happening.

Take the dead body that she discovered in the sarcophagus exhibit. Who needed that? Finding out that her new client, Emmett London, is one of the most dangerous men in the city isn’t helping matters either. And that’s just today’s list of setbacks. Here in the shadows of the Dead City of Old Cadence, things don’t really heat up until After Dark.

How fun does this book look?!

Dead End Dating (Dead End Dating #1)
Kimberly Raye (Ivy Books)
Publication Date: Aug 2006 (US)
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Goodreads Summary:

A vivacious vampire with a flair for accessorizing, Lil Marchette is unlike most of her kind. She prefers lively shades of pink to dismal black (soo not her color), plus she’s a hopeless romantic. In need of a steady paycheck to support a compulsive cosmetics habit, Lil starts Dead End Dating (DED), a Manhattan-based matchmaking service that helps smart, sophisticated singles like herself find eternity mates–and may even help her stake a claim to her very own Count Right!

When Lil meets geeky vampire Francis Deville, she knows he’s the perfect first client. If she can hook up Francis–after a little revamping, of course–she will prove her skills to the vampire community and turn DED into the hottest dating service in the Big Apple. But just as her business takes off, Lil meets the (literally) drop-dead gorgeous bounty hunter Ty Bonner, who is hot on the chase of a serial killer. Instantly drawn to the luscious vamp stud, Lil really wants a taste. But as a made vampire, Ty can’t procreate–and Lil will settle for nothing less. Luckily, between “vampifying” Francis and helping Ty solve his murder mystery, Lil has no time for silly romantic entanglements . . . even if Ty is all that and a Bloody Mary chaser!

I've heard loads of good things on Jayne Castle, just have yet to get around to her books; this one sounds like a great one to start with. But I agree about the cover- I wouldn't have given it a second look if not for your post :(
I know, I know, dont judge a book by its cover but I do when browsing.

I've been wanting to read the Dead End Dating series for a while now. That cover to the first book is what's keeping me from trying that other series, lol. It's not pretty enough for my shelf. lol.

You will like Dead End Dating...it is a cute and fun read. Also, I love the Harmony series...LOL, but I have yet to read Book 1. I bought a couple of books from the series, thinking that they were stand alones...it wasn't till after a couple of books, that I realized...I imagine I too will be wishing for this book . I hope that you get your books and that they are everything you hope them to be.

That series by Jayne Castle is fun. I love her take on science fiction romance. And dust bunnies are the cutest critters ever! I hope your wishlist becomes your TBR stack sooner rather than later. Happy reading!
