Courtney Allison Moulton (HaperCollins)
Publication Date: Feb 2011 (US)
Genre: Paranormal
Young Adult
Goodreads Summary:
When seventeen-year-old Ellie starts seeing reapers – monstrous creatures who devour humans and send their souls to Hell – she finds herself on the front lines of a supernatural war between archangels and the Fallen and faced with the possible destruction of her soul.
A mysterious boy named Will reveals she is the reincarnation of an ancient warrior, the only one capable of wielding swords of angelfire to fight the reapers, and he is an immortal sworn to protect her in battle. Now that Ellie’s powers have been awakened, a powerful reaper called Bastian has come forward to challenge her. He has employed a fierce assassin to eliminate her – an assassin who has already killed her once.
While balancing her dwindling social life and reaper-hunting duties, she and Will discover Bastian is searching for a dormant creature believed to be a true soul reaper. Bastian plans to use this weapon to ignite the End of Days and to destroy Ellie’s soul, ending her rebirth cycle forever. Now, she must face an army of Bastian’s most frightening reapers, prevent the soul reaper from consuming her soul, and uncover the secrets of her past lives – including truths that may be too frightening to remember.

I saw a review of this one on Goodreads and they loved it and the subsequent books in the series, so on my list it went!
Crazy Hot (Steele Street #1)
Tara Janzen (Dell)
Publication Date: Sept 2005
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Goodreads Summary:
LOVE HAS NEVER BEEN THIS WILD. THIS DANGEROUS. THIS HOT.
Only the most dire emergency could send palaeontologist Regan McKinney racing across the West in search of a man. But her grandfather has vanished, and Quinn Younger could be the missing link. What the bad-boy-turned-American-hero is doing in a deserted tumbleweed town is an even bigger mystery… until danger trails Regan into Cisco, Utah, and the sexy ex-air force pilot becomes her sole hope of survival….
Quinn figures things can’t get worse than being stuck in Cisco on an impossible special-ops mission. Then the dinosaur doc’s granddaughter roars into town with bad guys on her tail. Once, Quinn was on the fast track to a life of crime… until Regan’s grandfather rescued him. Now Quinn owes it to them both to find the old guy. But throw in a deadly terrorist and some hot dinosaur bones, and a man could get himself killed. Because facing down danger with this revved-up lady is one endless adrenaline-rush of pleasure — especially when they’re falling crazy in love… and hanging on for dear life….

High Stakes (Vegas Vampires #1)
Erin McCarthy (Berkley Trade)
Publication Date: Aug 2006 (US)
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Goodreads Summary:
He’s a bloodsucking freak of nature. But, unlike other politicians, Ethan Carrick is actually a nice guy. Not to mention a very hot, wealthy, casino-owning vampire. It’s an election year for vampires, which means he’ll first have to escape his opponent’s hit men. Then he’ll have to find a suitable First Lady, preferably here in Vegas.
Brittany Baldizzi fits the bill. She’s smart, pretty- and sweeter than a glass of diabetic O-Negative. But her protective sister Alexis steps in with a message for Ethan: Bite me. It’s then that he realizes it’s the sexy, no-nonsense Alexis who raises his stake. And as much as she denies it, Alexis wouldn’t mind a romp in the coffin with him. But can a mere mortal, even one who risks her life for him, make a centuries-old, womanizing vampire feel something entirely new?

ha ha. I love that cover to Crazy Hot, it reminds me of the movie Drop Dead Fred, where he looks under that ladies dress and whispers "No panties. She's wearing no panties." LOL. Best movie ever.
