October was a pretty great month, although very busy. I started my Zoology degree very late September and have been getting to grips with studying again throughout October – it’s all very daunting, but exciting at the same time. The modules on the course are tough and some of it I’ve never done before (biological statistic – urrrgggh!), so there’s a BIG learning curve, but it’s been fun.

October was also the season for all things ghoulish and I celebrated by hosting my annual ALL HALLOWS EVE! It was great fun and I read lots af fab books, not as many as I would have liked due to the texts I now have to read for my course, but I hoped you still enjoyed all the reviews, guest posts and fabulous giveaways!

Before I continue on with other BCC news, I have a few winners to announce – if the giveaway you entered is not listed below then it will be announced this Sunday!

What an amazing list of books for October. Congratulations to all the winners. I usually read fiction action thrillers but happened to pick up a very interesting memoir that I can't seem to put down. It's called Voices of the Heart (author Linda Lambert Pestana). This is a must read for anyone facing difficult choices. Linda reminds us that even if we fall we can still have the strength and courage to pull ourselves up and go on. It's a personal portrayal but the journey is universal.
