REVIEW:
What to say about this book other than I absolutely loved it?! Marie Force perfectly encapsulates the giddy intensity of an exciting new relationship and the whirlwind of falling head over heels in love, butterflies and all. Sucking you in and taking you on the journey with the characters.
I began this book one night when my husband was away, and I kept looking at the clock thinking I’ll put it down and go to sleep in a minute. When I got to a hundred pages from the end, I knew there was no way I was going to sleep until it was finished. I devoured it cover to cover in just over four hours and it kept me reading up until the small hours.
Cole Langston is the perfect romance hero, a handsome pilot who become famous for landing a plane in a terrible blizzard after the Captain collapsed with a heart attack. Saving both the plane and the pilot, the press love him and he’s become a poster boy for the airline he works for. His heroism has earned him fame and a reputation with the ladies.
One morning while in the queue to buy a pack of mentos, Cole comes to the rescue of shop worker Olivia and ends up being attacked in her defence.
There’s a fragility about Olivia, with a troubled family life and a couple of poor relationships behind her, she lacks self confidence. But as soon as Cole and Olivia set eyes on each other… Lightening bolts. Let’s face it, what girl wouldn’t want a handsome, hero pilot falling in love with them and whisking them away to different places? Their love story is intense and consuming and will make you sigh with a soppy smile on your face.
Some readers might get irritated with how quickly Cole and Olivia say those three magical words I love you, but it didn’t bother me in the slightest. It seemed right and perfectly mirrored the intensity of the relationship. Also I loved seeing womaniser Cole humbled by true love.
My one small frustration with the story was Olivia’s insecurities, she can’t quite completely trust Cole. While it must be hard when it seems like every woman around is throwing themselves at your man and secretly slipping him telephone numbers, at the same time you either trust the man you love or you don’t. But of course, every romance needs that will they, won’t they dramatic element to add in that extra sizzle.
VERDICT:
A fantastic and absorbing romance, with a hero and heroine that you can’t help but fall for. And like a delicious piece of chocolate cake, as soon as i’m finished it I wanted to start it all over again.
I have now added every single one of Marie Force’s books to my wishlist and shall be promptly buying them all! I think they will make perfect holiday reading.
