On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It’s where I list all the books I desperately want but haven’t actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. It’s also an event that you can join in with too – Mr Linky is always at the ready for you to link your own ‘On My Wishlist’ post. If you want to know more click here.
This sounds really good and I think the cover is great – I need to read more werewolf books!
Wereworld: Rise of the Wolf (Wereworld #1)
Curtis Jobling (Puffin)
Publication Date: Jan 2011
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Young Adult
Goodreads Summary:
‘You’re the last of the werewolves son. Don’t fight it…Conquer it’. When the air is clear, sixteen year-old Drew Ferran can pick up the scent of a predator. When the moon breaks through the clouds, a terrifying fever grips him. And when a vicious beast invades his home, his gums begin to tear, his fingers become claws, and Drew transforms …Forced to flee the family he loves, Drew seeks refuge in the most godforsaken parts of Lyssia. But when he is captured by Lord Bergan’s men, Drew must prove he is not the enemy. Can Drew battle the werecreatures determined to destroy him – and master the animal within?
I don’t often read book with faeries as they’re not my fav otherworld creature, but this sounds really good.
Dead on the Delta
Stacey Jay (Pocket)
Publication Date: May 2011
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Goodreads Summary:
The beginning of a new urban fantasy series in which fairies are creatures the size of mosquitoes, and have poisonous bites that drive humans insane.
I love a good mystery and this sounds great, especially as it’s set in Victorian England, probably one of my favourite times in history to read.
Silent in the Grave (Lady Julia #1)
Deanna Raybourn (Mira)
Publication Date: Jan 2008
Genre: Mystery
Goodreads Summary:
To say I met Nicholas Brisbane over my husband’s dead body is not entirely accurate. Edward, it should be noted, was still twitching upon the floor…For Lady Julia Grey, her husband’s sudden death at a dinner party is extremely inconvenient. However, things take a turn for the worse when inscrutable private investigator Nicholas Brisbane reveals that the death was not due to natural causes.Drawn away from her comfortable, conventional life, Julia is exposed to threatening notes, secret societies and gypsy curses, not to mention Nicholas’ charismatic unpredictability. This sparkling, witty tale is the first in a captivating new series featuring Lady Julia and Nicholas Brisbane.
I’m not sure about the cover of this one, but the summary makes it sound a fun read.
Enchanted Inc (Enchanted Inc #1)
Shanna Swendon (Ballantine)
Publication Date: May 2005
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Goodreads Summary:
Katie Chandler had always heard that New York is a weird and wonderful place, but this small-town Texas gal had no idea how weird until she moved there. Everywhere she goes, she sees something worth gawking at and Katie is afraid she’s a little too normal to make a splash in the big city. Working for an ogre of a boss doesn’t help.
Then, seemingly out of the blue, Katie gets a job offer from Magic, Spells, and Illusions, Inc., a company that tricks of the trade to the magic community. For MSI, Katie’s ordinariness is an asset. Lacking any bit of magic, she can easily spot a fake spell, catch hidden clauses in competitor’s contracts, and detect magically disguised intruders. Suddenly, average Katie is very special indeed.
She quickly learns that office politics are even more complicated when your new boss is a real ogre, and you have a crush on the sexy, shy, ultra powerful head of the R&D department, who is so busy fighting an evil competitor threatening to sell black magic on the street that he seems barely to notice Katie. Now it’s up to Katie to pull off the impossible: save the world and–hopefully–live happily ever after.
So that’s what’s on my wishlist this week – what’s on yours?

Oh no, the attack of the guilts! lol – that Deanna Raybourn title does it to me. I have the entire set (5 books, I think) that I've been really, really wanting to get to and every time I see them on someone's wishlist I beat myself over the head wondering why I haven't at least gotten to the first one yet.
Great list, as always.

I like the look of a couple of these, but dearie me I'm tiring of these dreary punny titles–and I love a pun as much as the next person. Urgh!
