GOODREADS SUMMARY:

Beautiful archaeologist Madison Dartmoor unearths an astonishing find, one of vast importance to a handsome stranger-a man who is not human, and who holds a dangerous secret that may break her heart.

REVIEW:

Day of the Dragon‘ is based around two main characters; Ramsey Gallagher a two thousand year old dragon shape shifter and Dr Madison Dartmoor, a beautiful archeologist who may hold the key to Ramsey’s illusive heritage.

This is a paranormal romance novel and therefore some elements of the book are incredibly strange and unexplainable, such as Ramsey’s need for blood and the history of the Shifters. Even Madison cannot explain, in a logical sense, her instant passionate feelings for Ramsey. I really enjoyed the romantic side of this book. However, I did feel that the relationship between Ramsey and Madison happened too quickly and actually seemed forced at first.

The setting of the book was one of my favourite parts of this novel. We were taken on a whirlwind journey from the bright lights of Las Vegas, where Madison and Ramsey first meet at a planned archaeological conference to the solitary mountainous landscape of Colorado, on to the coast of Italy where Madison’s dig was taking place and then to Peru. ‘Day of the Dragon‘ is a non-stop action-packed adventure and each setting provides different problems for the couple – generally ending in a violent battle to save themselves.

The plot itself is full of twists and turns, when everything seems to be about to settle down for Madison and Ramsey another problem looms in the distance. It was hard to put the book down as there was so much going on, I just had to keep reading.

VERDICT:

I did not expect to enjoy ‘Day of the Dragon‘ as much as I did; I was hooked right from the start. I would have no problems recommending it to others.

Great, honest review! I really like how you laid it on the line your likes and dislikes but you didn't torment the book!
