On My Wishlist (#72)

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It’s where I list all the books I desperately want but haven’t actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. It’s also an event that you can join in with too – Mr Linky is always at the ready for you to link your own ‘On My Wishlist’ post. If you want to know more click here.
This sounds pretty good.
Hunter of Shadows
Nancy Gideon (Pocket)
Publication Date: Nov 2011

Genre: Paranormal Romance
Goodreads Summary:

This paranormal romance features a shapeshifter New Orleans cop as the hero, and paid assassin from another shape-shifter tribe as the heroine.

Ooh a new urban fantasy…

Shaedes of Gray
Amanda Bonilla (Signet)
Publication Date: Dec 2011

Genre: Urban Fantasy
Goodreads Summary:

In the shadows of the night, Darian has lived alone for almost a century. Made and abandoned by her former love, Darian is the last of her kind—an immortal Shaede who can slip into darkness as easily as breathing. With no one else to rely on, she has taught herself how to survive, using her unique skills to become a deadly assassin.
Darian finds herself struggling to keep her employer Tyler at arm’s length, especially since his seductive smile makes her want to break her rules about love. The work he offers is necessary to protect the innocent—and a welcome distraction. But when Darian’s next mark turns out to be Xander Peck, King of the Shaede Nation, her whole worldview is thrown into question. Darian begins to wonder if she’s taken on more than her conscience will allow, but a good assassin never leaves a job unfinished…

This sounds interesting – I like the cover but don’t you think it has a late 80s, early 90s vibe about it?
Blood Memories (Vampires Memories #1)
Barb Hendee (Roc)
Publication Date: Oct 2008

Genre: Urban Fantasy
Goodreads Summary:

Eleisha Clevon has the face of a teen angel, but she is no angel. Unlike most vampires, she doesn’t like to kill, but self-preservation comes first.
When an old friend destroys himself by walking into sunlight right in front of her, Eleisha is shocked. And what she finds afterwards points to how very sick of his existence her friend had become—piling drained corpses in the basement and keeping records of other vampires’ real names and addresses. That’s a problem.
Because now, there are policemen on the case: two very special humans with some gifts of their own. They know who Eleisha is, and, even more dangerous, what she is.

Ooh goodie – another new upcoming urban fantasy! This sounds awesome and I do love angels ;)

Sins of the Angels (Grigori Legacy #1)
Linda Poitevin (Ace)
Publication Date: Sept 2011

Genre: Urban Fantasy
Goodreads Summary:

A detective with a secret lineage. An undercover Hunter with a bullet-proof soul. And a world made to pay for the sins of an angel…
Homicide detective Alexandra Jarvis answers to no one. Especially not to the new partner assigned to her in the middle of a gruesome serial killer case—a partner who is obstructive, irritatingly magnetic, and arrogant as hell.

Aramael is a Power—a hunter of the Fallen Angels. A millennium ago, he sentenced his own brother to eternal exile for crimes against humanity. Now his brother is back and wreaking murderous havoc in the mortal realm. To find him, Aramael must play second to a human police officer who wants nothing to do with him and whose very bloodline threatens both his mission and his soul.
Now, faced with a fallen angel hell-bent on triggering the apocalypse, Alex and Aramael have no choice but to join forces, because only together can they stop the end of days.

So, that’s what’s on my wishlist this week – what’s on yours?

I'm so intrigued by the Grigori legacy. I am thrilled , indeed, for the release of the first installment of the series. It lured me from the cover to the title. :) )
