I love urban fantasy and I’ve wanted to read the Kitty Norville series for some time. So this month I will be reviewing all the books in the series, I also have a fantastic interview with the author, Carrie Vaughn, an interview with Kitty herself, a guest post from book cover designer, Nick Castle, and a fab giveaway! I hope you enjoy! 
Kitty Norville is Denver’s werewolf Alpha and DJ. She hosts a late night call-in radio show called The Midnight Hour where supernaturals can talk openly about their lives and any problems they may have.
Welcome Kitty – Thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview for Book Chick City! Where do you think you would be now if you hadn’t been bitten?
I think about that a lot, because I know how different my life would be. I might still be a DJ or working in radio in some capacity, but I certainly wouldn’t have The Midnight Hour. I wouldn’t be any kind of celebrity. I probably would have finished college, gotten married, popped out a couple of kids by now, be living in the suburbs… Instead, I’m traveling the world and meeting the most interesting people. I can’t honestly complain.
What is your biggest regret?
I really would like to have kids, but the physiology just doesn’t work. Would I give up everything else for it? I just don’t know.
What would be your ultimate music playlist?
A little Ella Fitzgerald, a little Concrete Blonde, a little Janis Joplin. A chicks kick ass playlist.
Who would be on your dream dinner party guest list (alive or dead)?
General William Sherman, Wyatt Earp, and Hillary Clinton.
You’re very open minded about the different supernatural creatures that are out there – is there one you think doesn’t exist? Like the Loch Ness monster or Leprechauns?
I have it on good authority that dragons do not exist. Don’t ask how that came up.
What advice would you give to a family of newly bitten werewolves?
Give them space to work it out. Don’t schedule important family get togethers on full moon nights.
Which supernatural creature would you trust the most (other than werewolves) as your partner in crime?
Well, there are some werewolves I wouldn’t trust. There are some vampires I would, and some I wouldn’t. Some wizards I would and some I wouldn’t. It’s not the supernatural creature, it’s the individual I trust or don’t.
Would you have ever entertained having a romantic relationship with a vampire if you hadn’t settled down with your current beau? Such as Rick?
Maybe. But you have to understand that “a dinner date” with a vampire means something entirely different to the vampire than it would to a mortal human.
Who was your most interesting interview subject/guest on the Midnight Hour?
I’ve had so many. But Sergeant Tyler may be my favorite just because we became good friends afterward.
It’s hard to imagine you doing anything outside of being a late night radio host, but if you weren’t behind the mic, what other career could you see yourself doing?
Not really sure — it’s hard to picture. I love radio and music and the publicity that goes along with it. So in some nightmare alternate world I’d probably be in TV marketing or something.
Do you have any guilty pleasure choices in music? Either a band or a song that you would never admit to liking but secretly crank the song up when you’re alone?
Disco becomes strangely compelling when you start listening to the lyrics.
If you could pick anyone to play the movie version of you, who would you pick?
A blond version of Ellen Page.
