On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It’s where we list all the books we desperately want but haven’t actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. It’s also an event that you can join in with too – Mr Linky is always at the ready for you to link your own ‘On My Wishlist’ post. CAROLYN’S WISHLIST
Doesn’t this look like a cute, fun read. I love the blend of paranormal and mystery and I’m looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of this one.
It Takes a Witch (Witchcraft Mystery #1)
Heather Blake (Signet)
Publication Date: Jan 2012
Genre: Paranormal Mystery

I read ‘Eternal Rider‘ the first in this series a month or so back, (review coming soon) and I absolutely LOVED it. I can’t wait for ‘Immortal Rider‘ to be released in the UK this coming November. I think the UK covers are gorgeous too (shown).
Immortal Rider (Lords of Deliverance #2)
Larissa Ione (Piatkus)
Publication Date: Nov 2011
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Summary:
The prophecies were there but no one listened. Until now. They are the Lords of Deliverance and they have the power to usher in Doomsday… or prevent it.
Sexy, powerful and immortal, Limos is on a crash course with destiny. She’s been marked as Satan’s bride and her jealous fiancé wants her all to himself. The only way this Horseman can keep herself – and everyone else – safe is to keep her distance. But not even Limos can save herself from the secrets she’s kept… or resist the seductive allure of one very brave human.
Arik Wagner knows the saying ‘love hurts’ better than most, yet he never thought stealing a kiss from Limos would land him in Hell. Literally. It takes all his military training to survive the demon torture, but once he’s topside, Arik realises that the agony has just begun. With the Apocalypse looming and Satan demanding his bride, will Arik and Limos surrender to the desire smouldering between them? Or will giving in to their passion unleash hell on earth?
LAURA’S WISHLIST
I’m a big fan of Rachel Vincent’s Shifter books so when I saw on Twitter that she was releasing a new urban fantasy series I knew it had to go straight on my wishlist!
Blood Bound (Unbound #1)
Rachel Vincent (Mira)
Publication Date: 1st September 2011
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Most can’t touch the power. But Liv Warren is special – a paranormal tracker who follows the scent of blood.
Liv makes her own rules, and the most important one is trust no one.
But when her friend’s daughter goes missing, Liv has no choice but to find the girl. Thanks to a childhood oath, Liv can’t rest until the child is home safe. But that means trusting Cam Caballero, the former lover forbidden to her.
Bound by oath and lost in desire for a man she cannot have, Liv is racing to save the child from a dark criminal underworld where secrets, lies, trauma and danger lurk around every corner…every touch…every kiss.
And more blood will be spilled before it’s over… (Goodreads)
I’ve written a
guest post this week about my favourite fantasy trilogy and I wrote about Anne Bishop’s
Black Jewels Trilogy. I read it quite a while ago and have read a few of the spin-offs books, but not all and it has made me want to pick up the rest in the series.
Tangled Webs (The Black Jewels #6)
Anne Bishop (Roc)
Publication Date: March 2008
Genre: Fantasy
Summary:
The invitation is signed “Jaenelle Angelline,” and it summons her family to an entertainment she had specially prepared. Surreal SaDiablo, former courtesan and assassin, arrives first. But when she enters the house, Surreal finds herself trapped in a living nightmare created by the tangled webs of Black Widow witches…and if she uses Craft to defend herself, she risks being sealed in the house forever. But Jaenelle did not send the invitation. And now Jaenelle and her family must rescue Surreal and the others inside without becoming trapped themselves-and then discover who has created such a place, and why… (Goodreads)
