On My Wishlist (#88)

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It’s where we list all the books we desperately want but haven’t actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. It’s also an event that you can join in with too – Mr Linky is always at the ready for you to link your own ‘On My Wishlist’ post. If you want to know more click here.
CAROLYN’S WISHLIST

I’ve just finished the second book in this series, ‘Fighting to Survive‘ and it was absolutely brilliant (review coming soon), so I can’t wait to get my hands on the final book in this amazing trilogy!

Siege (As The World Dies #3)
Rhiannon Frater (Tor)
Publication Date: Jan 2012
Genre: Horror

Summary:

No synopsis yet.

The first book in this series, ‘Secondhand Spirits‘ (review coming soon) is another book I’ve read recently and really enjoyed. It’s a fab cosy paranormal mystery series that’s just great to curl up with. Looking forward to reading this one.

A Cast-Off Coven (Witchcraft Mystery #2)
Juliet Blackwell (Signet)
Publication Date: June 2010
Genre: Paranormal Mystery

Summary:

Lily Ivory is not your average witch. She runs a vintage clothing store called Aunt Cora’s Closet and has the magical ability to sense vibrations of the past from clothing and jewelry. When students are spooked at the San Francisco School for the Arts, Lily is called in to search for paranormal activity. She finds a dead body00and a closet full of old clothes with some very bad vibes. (Goodreads)

LAURA’S WISHLIST

A fab new paranormal romance I came across on Goodreads, I’m intrigued by the futuristic setting.

Chosen By Blood (Para-Ops #1)
Virna DePaul (Berkley)
Publication Date: July 2011
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Summary:

United by fate. Bound by desire.

Five years after the Second Civil War ends, humans and otherborn— humanlike creatures with superhuman DNA—still struggle for peace. To ensure the continued rights of both, the FBI forms a Para-Ops team with a unique set of skills.

Leader of an Otherborn clan, half-breed vampire Knox Devereaux would do anything to find a cure for the anti-vamp vaccine slowly starving his people into extinction. When the FBI contacts him about leading a team of hand-selected Others on a mission to reclaim the stolen antidote, Knox accepts. His new assignment places him in direct contact with Special Agent Felicia Locke, the beautiful human he’s craved since their very first meeting. (Goodreads)

I’ve been cutting down on the amount of YA books I’m reading lately, as in general I prefer adult books. But I’ve seen this book on the blogosphere and really fancy giving this series a go. Also stunning cover!

Paranormalcy
Kiersten White (Harper Collins)
Publication Date: August 2010
Genre: Paranormal
Young Adult

Summary:

Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie’s always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals’ glamours, but still. Normal.

Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie’s dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures. So much for normal. (Goodreads)

So that’s what’s on our wishlists – what’s on yours?
