On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by
Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It’s where we list all the books we desperately want but haven’t actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. It’s also an event that you can join in with too – Mr Linky is always at the ready for you to link your own ‘On My Wishlist’ post. If you want to know more click

CAROLYN’S WISHLIST
I have picked a couple of anthologies for my wishlist this week. I have found over the last couple of weeks that they are great if you are just coming out of a reading slump, which I am. I’ve read all three books in the
‘Living with the Dead’ series and enjoyed all of them so I’m eager to read this one. On a side note, I also want the short story
‘Shambling with the stars’ but it’s unavailable in the UK
In The Dead (Vol.1)
Jesse Petersen
Publication Date: July 2011
Genre: Horror, Zombies
Goodreads
Summary:
When the Zombie Apocalypse began in Seattle and spread within days to almost the entire western half the country, the survivors had to figure out how to deal with the plague and live one day at a time. These are their stories.
If you liked Jesse Petersen’s zombie comedies Married With Zombies, Flip This Zombie and Eat Slay Love, these nine stories are set in the same world, but from the perspective of other survivors. (Goodreads)
This is another anthology that I really want. I *love* Nalini Singh, she’s one of my favourite paranormal romance authors and I’ve loved everything she’s written so far. This sounds amazing and the cover is just gorgeous, don’t you think?
Angels’ Flight
Nalini Singh (Berkley)
Publication Date: Feb 2012
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Goodreads
Summary:
In Angel’s Wolf a vampire becomes fascinated with the seductive angel who rules Louisiana. But all is not what it appears to be in her court.
In Angels’ Judgment a hunter must track one of her own gone bad, while surviving the deadly tests placed in her way by the archangels themselves. Unexpected backup comes from a stranger who might just be the most lethal threat of all…
In Angels’ Pawn a vampire hunter faces off against two rival factions and the angel manipulating them both, and a vampire whose help is not entirely selfless…
In Angels’ Dance an angel trapped in the mountain stronghold of the Refuge finds herself under siege by a warrior angel from a martial court. (Goodreads)
LAURA’S WISHLIST
Dystopian novels certainly seem to be a huge book trend at the moment. This one pulled me in as it’s billed to be the new ‘Hunger Games’ which I absolutely loved.
Shatter Me (Shatter Me #1)
Tahereh Mafi (HarperCollins)
Publication Date: November 2011
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Goodreads
Summary:
Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days. The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war- and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior. (Goodreads)
Dragons, dwarves, enchanted swords and a mission to save the world. Sign me up!
Black Blade Blues (Sarah Beauhall #1)
J. A. Pitts (Tor Books)
Publication Date: April 2010
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Goodreads
Summary:
Sarah Beauhall has more on her plate than most twenty-somethings: day job as a blacksmith, night job as a props manager for low-budget movies, and her free time is spent fighting in a medieval re-enactment group.
The lead actor breaks Sarah’s favorite one-of-a-kind sword, and to avoid reshooting scenes, Sarah agrees to repair the blade. One of the extras, who claims to be a dwarf, offers to help. And that’s when things start to get weird. Could the sword really be magic, as the “dwarf” claims? Are dragons really living among us as shapeshifters?
And as if things weren’t surreal enough, Sarah’s girlfriend Katie breaks out the dreaded phrase… “I love you.” As her life begins to fall apart, first her relationship with Katie, then her job at the movie studio, and finally her blacksmithing career, Sarah hits rock bottom. It is at this moment, when she has lost everything she has prized, that one of the dragons makes their move.
And suddenly what was unthinkable becomes all too real…and Sarah will have to decide if she can reject what is safe and become the heroine who is needed to save her world. (Goodreads)

Anthologies are great for just dipping into reading and out again – and from mixed authors it's a good chance to try a new writer!

I'm terrible for just reading the authors I like when I buy an anthology and NOT trying out new authors, sheer laziness!
Shatter Me is on my wish list too, I feel like I've been waiting on it for ages though!
