WEEKLY ROUNDUP – 18th Dec 2011

Welcome to our new feature “Book Chick City’s WEEKLY ROUNDUP” – We will be posting every Sunday and it will be filled with lots of BCC news such as what’s coming up, reviews we’ve done, favourite books, as well as review books we’ve received. There may even be a video blog or two ;) *if I can muster up the courage – iz shy* Also, if we find anything around the blogosphere that we feel is particularly note worthy we’ll post about that too! We hope you enjoy  :)
Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
I’ve had a pretty great week. Have been Christmas shopping, wrapping, decorating… think I’m almost done. I also received a copy of ‘Sadie Walker is Stranded‘ by Madeleine Roux, which I’ve been waiting on for what seems like forever, but in addition I noticed I’ve been quoted from my review of Allison Hewitt is trapped’ – I can’t tell you how awesome this is and I am SO chuffed :D ~ Carolyn

AROUND THE BLOGOSPHERE

Nalini Singh posted some awesome news on her Facebook page: “ARCHANGEL’S STORM” is the title of the next Guild Hunter book, featuring………….. Jason! Release date: September 2012″

YAY!!! I love Jason – I’m SO pleased he’s getting his own book! I love the title too! I love Nalini Singh (lots of lovin’ going on) – If you haven’t read her books then you’re missing out BIG TIME!! So go and read, NOW!

Some fab news from Bell Bridge Books: “Starting Christmas eve and running for three days, we will be offering a “Christmas Extravaganza” of free books for Kindle. There will be more than TWENTY Bell Bridge titles available for free download, including a variety of genres in romance, mystery, suspense, young adult and women’s fiction. To find the free books, interested readers can search “Bell Bridge Books” in the Kindle Store starting Xmas eve.”

How cool is that? I’ll definitely be checking them out!

Jackie over at Literary Escapism is hosting her New Authors Reading Challenge again this year. I wasn’t going to join any other challenges other than my own, but I love the sound of this one, so I’ve succumbed and signed up!

I read a novella by Ms Reus and really liked her writing style, so looking forward to reading a full length novel. ‘The Snow Child’ sounds as though it could be a very special book. I also received a gorgeous finished copy of ‘Fighting to Survive‘ by Rhiannon Frater – I *LOVED* this book when I read the ARC back in September, so this lovely is now pride of place on my “bestest” bookshelf! ;D

BOOKS BOUGHT

CAROLYN ~ This week I’ve bought a few kindle books. As you can see half are zombie novels… well that’s because I’m getting ready for my Zombie Challenge 2012! I can’t wait to start this challenge, it gives me the excuse to read LOTS of zombie books ;D

LAURA ~ No new books this week, but I have been doing lots of Christmas shopping which has made up for it. I genuinely love to give Christmas presents and work out what different people will really like as much as I like to receive them. Cheesy, but true! WHAT WE’RE READING NOW

CAROLYN ~ I’ve just finished ‘A Karma Girl Christmas‘ by Jennifer Estep, ready for ‘Christmas Week‘ and now I’ve cracked open another festive read ‘Wolfsbane & Mistletoe‘ an anthology edited by Charlaine Harris. It has an excellent list of contributing authors and so far I’m really enjoying it.

LAURA ~ I haven’t started any new books this week, so I’m still reading ‘All I Want for Christmas Is A Vampire’ which is very much getting me in the mood for Christmas! And my on-going audiobook is ‘Hexed‘.

FAVOURITE BOOK READ

CAROLYN ~ My favourite book this week is the one I’m reading now, ‘Wolfsbane & Mistletoe‘ – there are some great stories in here.

LAURA ~ My favourite book this week, is still the same as it was last week… ‘Hexed‘ by the very talented Kevin Hearne.
