Books We Love is a regular fortnightly feature here at Book Chick City. It’s where we discuss our favourite books; the books we absolutely adore, would recommend over and over again, and will keep forever on our bookshelves. I hope you enjoy and find some new-to-you authors and books to read.
My guest today is the awesome Ashley from The Bookish Brunette. Ashley started blogging March 2011 and reviews just about anything, including paranormal, romance and young adult. She also loves zombies, so she gets a total thumbs up from me! *We also share a love for all things Rhiannon Frater*

I love her pad and stop by often. If you haven’t checked out her blog yet, make sure you stop by and say hello – she’s real friendly *although a little bit nuts* ;D

Ashley Online:

Hey! I’m Ash from The Bookish Brunette, the awesome chicks at Book Chick City asked me to list a few of my favorite books for their Books We Love feature… So here we go!
The First Days: As the World Dies by Rhiannon Frater: is my absolute FAVORITE zombie book of all time… The opening scene is terrifying and completely realistic, it pulls you in and Frater refuses to let you go until the last page. Which in turn leaves you gasping for the second book!
Katie and Jenni are the two most kick butt pair of chicks you will EVER come across in my opinion. Both complimenting the other with their strengths to form an amazing zombie killing duo to the likes in which you’ve never seen!!

“So, basically, I’m risking my life because you pansies don’t want to pick up tampons.”

“Finally they had started shooting zombies. That was much better.”

Jenny Pox by J.L. Bryan: I am so completely in love with the characters in this book, even the VILLAIN in the Jenny Pox series is so super freaking amazing that even though you completely LOATHE her- you still love her. I could go on about this book, and this series for hours and hours… But I won’t!
J.L. Bryan is BRILLIANT. I adored every single second of this book, the ending was mind-blowingly phenomenal!!!

“Will you keep me safe?” she whispered. -Jenny
“I promise.” -Seth
“Then I’ll go anywhere with you.” -Jenny

Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley: Complete and utter YA awesomeness! Graffiti Moon is told over the course of a single night and in the alternating POV’s of Lucy, Ed (Shadow), and Leo (Poet).
While the main focus is Lucy and Shadow, I LOVED Poet. I want to marry Poet and have 100 of his babies. Yeah, that much – don’t judge me! :)

“I spent the weekend after our date wishing I could stab him with my fluffy duck pen and staring at the phone wishing he’d call.” -Lucy

“It goes like that for a while, me running and leaping and falling and wondering how doing this prove I have balls.” -Ed

“Every time he looked at me I felt like I’d touched my tongue to the tip of a battery.” -Lucy on zing and tingle.

Thanks for having me over ladies!!!!

I haven't read any of those books, but I did buy Jenny Pox a while back when I saw you recommend it on twitter. I will have to check out these other books too.

*heart* Ash!

I totally agree with The First Days–that book rocked my socks off too!

I bought Jenny Pox and will read it over Christmas Break—that was totally Ash's fault :)

Lol I love how you describe Ashley as a great person but a little nuts!

The only book that Ash listed that I've read is Jenny Pox, which I still need to read the rest of that series.

thanks for the great post.
