Sign Up: Horror & Urban Fantasy Reading Challenge 2012
Book Chick City's
Horror & Urban Fantasy Reading Challenge 2012!
Welcome to Book Chick City's Horror & Urban Fantasy Reading Challenge 2012! I love horror, it's one of my favourite genres and I adore urban fantasy too. I have done really well on this challenge this year and completed it early. I even read more books than the 24 requested. But I still have so many books in both genres on my shelves I've decided to run the challenge again and I will do so each year. I hope you will join in!
Sign Up Details
To sign up you MUST make a post on your blog about participating in the challenge - you then use the DIRECT URL of the post to sign up to the challenge by adding it to Mr Linky below. DO NOT just add your blog URL - this will be deleted.
You must add the button to your sidebar - make sure that it links back to this post so others can join the challenge if they wish. Easiest way to do this is to copy and paste the code displayed below!
Grab the button!
Challenge Details
• Timeline: 01 Jan 2012 - 31 Dec 2012
• There are two levels:
- Read TWENTY FOUR (24) horror & urban fantasy novels in 2012
- Read FORTY EIGHT (48) horror & urban fantasy novels in 2012
- Read TWENTY FOUR (24) horror & urban fantasy novels in 2012
- Read FORTY EIGHT (48) horror & urban fantasy novels in 2012
• You don't have to select your books ahead of time, you can just add them as you go. Also if you do list them upfront you can change them, nothing is set in stone! The books you choose can crossover into other challenges you have on the go.
• You can join the challenge at anytime. All books read in 2012 count towards the challenge regardless of when you sign up.
• Audiobooks do not count, but all other formats are accepted.
• No non-fiction - only fiction.

• You DO NOT have to write reviews of the books you read, but if you decide you would like to then Mr Linky will be available each month so you can link up your reviews.
• You don't have to have a blog to join in - for those without a blog but who use Goodreads, Amazon, LibraryThing etc, you can add the URL to where you track your books. If you don't have a URL at all then choose a name you would like to use and then copy and paste the following link:

*sighs happily* Now that's my kind of challenge. Shall hopefully be signing up in a few days time! :)
Yeah, I'm in. I've got so many books that fall into the Urban Fantasy category that have yet to be read. This is a great excuse to get them read. =^-^=
Quick question - is the challenge 'just' fiction? I have a couple 'how to draw' books on my shelf I'm hoping to get round to and wonder if they would fall in with the challenge (they are zombies etc) If not - ah well, I'm still signing up ;) Will do a post later and come back to linky :)
HI GUYS - GLAD YOU'RE EXCITED ABOUT THE CHALLENGE! ME TOO :D
CARMEN - Yes, only fiction :)
Yay for sexy, dark and bloody head ripping fiction. I'm in for this one, too!
Click on the link to Magaly's Blogging Circle to see the button on my scroll box.
Great challange!!!
I'm in (^__^)
Grrr.... Can you delete the Amber @ Sanity's Overrated link. It's not the right one. The Amber @ Views from the Reader Side, however, IS the correct one. Sorry about that!
I'm in! WOOT! I have created a separate page just for my reading challenges... but I'm having issues with my side buttons; they are there but they may not work :(
I also signed-up (and will do for two more challenges aswell).
Now I'm really exited~
Signed up :) Thanks for hosting!
Is eagerly waiting for 2012 to arrive. ^-^
I'm definitely going to do this one!
Signed up for level 1. Cant' wait to get started.
Awesome challenge, looking forward to this one!
Well, I am in! I hope this will give me an opportunity to read more books and check out more authors.
Yay, more challenges for me to do! :D
looking forward to this challange :)
signed up! Thanks for hosting.
I just signed up! Amazing challenge! (:
I loved doing this last year, so I am definitely on board for this year. Thank you so much for doing this again. I had a blast :)
I'm in and excited!
48 UF or Horror books in 2012 should be no problem. Most of the books I read in 2011 were UF.
Great challenge! 48 UF books in 2012 should be no problem for me as I'm pretty sure half of the books I read in 2011 were UF.
I hope to find some new awesome books/authors from everyone else. Plus this fits my goal of writing at least 25 book reviews this year. :-)
Looking forward to finding a new author or two. Plus, it fits my goal of trying to write at least 25 reviews this year.
Hei Im signed up and can`t wait too start reading:)
I loved this challenge in 2011, so I'm definitely joining in again this year!
I'll sign up for the 48 books.
I absolutely Looove Urban Fantasy books, so I am totally tackling this challenge!! Cheers!!
I love this one!!
24 books :-)
Already started reading... ; )
I decided to sign up for 48 books, mostly Urban Fantasy. ( Not sure if it is a good sign, or a bad sign that I can pick most of them from my Unread pile O_o.)
I love horror. Signed up to read at least 24 books.
Hi ladies! Is there a Mister Linky for our reviews for this one? I saw the 100 and the zombie. Did I miss the one for this one? :)
Thanks for hosting again! Hopefully, I won't fail again this year. Now that I have my horror review blog, it should be easier to complete the challenge. =O)
I'm in! I don't know if I'll can even read 25 books, but I'll try! :)
I'm not sure if I can read the 25 books, but I'll try! :)
This sounds exciting! Thank you for the invite. I have not attempted all horror and urban fantasy before, this will be a challenge. Can't wait to start. I will be browsing everyone's reads for referrals.
Since this is my first Horror/Urban Fantasy Challenge I go for 24 books
Sounds great! :D
Great challenge. Thanks for hosting it. I love Urban Fantasy and the blog I do reviews for just does Paranormal Romance so I don't a chance very often to log in UF books in a challenge. I don't have a blog but I do have a Goodreads bookshelf set aside just for this. Where do we put the 24 vs 48?
Signed up for 24 books! I have been reading fantasy for years, can't believe I'm finally going to add Horror to my genre list. Can't wait!
I'm all signed up, and I've already read 2 so far! Woot! :-D
What a great challenge. I'm already doing Fifty.Fifty.Me at http://www.fiftyfifty.me/, so this fits in nicely. I'm a huge horror fan. :)
I have set a lot of goals for my reading and writing in 2012 - this is a good one to add as I had planned to read the entire Anita Blake series anyway.
Is there a book length requirement?
I'm most looking forward to the "horror" part of this challenge. I'm a bigtime scaredy cat, but I've found horror can be fun and thrilling. So here we go!
