BCC's Reading Challenges 2011 Wrap Up!
BCC's Reading Challenges 2011 Wrap Up!
2011 is now over and so are all my 2011 reading challenges! Thanks to all of you who signed up, congratulations to all of you who succeeded and completed the challenges and for those of you who couldn't quite manage to finish all of them (like me!) don't worry, you have plenty of opportunity to sign up for more challenges in 2012!
CAROLYN
These are the challenges I set myself in 2011...

100+ Reading Challenge 2010 - FAILED!
I only managed 74/100 books in 2011, but this was partly due to a really bad reading slump in October which lasted for weeks, but I'm determined to reach 100 in 2012! 2012 Sign up HERE

Mystery & Suspense Reading Challenge 2011 - FAILED!
I only managed to read 5/12 in 201... this was better than the year before, so I am improving LOL but I'm looking forward to beating this challenge in 2012 - it's not going to get the better of me! 2012 Sign up HERE

Horror & Urban Fantasy Challenge 2011 - COMPLETED!
I managed to complete this challenge and then some, reading 51/24! This is why I added another level to the challenge this year, just to make it a bit harder! Hope I do just as well this in 2012! 2012 Sign up HERE

The Vampire Chronicles Challenge - FAILED!
Oops - I didn't even get started on this one. I have read the first 4/5 books but many years ago, so it was really a bit of a re-read. I loved these books so I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't get around to them...

Summer Romance Reading Challenge - FAILED!
I only managed to read 5 of the 12 books I set myself, but as I will be bringing this challenge again this summer, I hope to do much better in 2012, especially as I'm reading a lot more paranormal romance.
2011 Stephen King Challenge - FAILED!
Didn't get started on this challenge either, which is a real shame as I do enjoy Stephen King books. I might bring this challenge back at some point to have another go - maybe a mini challenge later in the year... ;D
LAURA
Well, I signed up for three reading challenges in 2011, and I didn't do too bad, completing two of them.
100+ Reading Challenge 2010 - FAILED!
Ok, so I miserably failed at this one, reading a mere 65 books in 2011. Which is even less than 2010 when I managed 67. I'm seeing a pattern here! The year got off to such a good start too. I'm going to try again for 2012, fingers crossed! You can view my list of books HERE.
Horror & Urban Fantasy Challenge 2011 - COMPLETED!
Just! Completing the 24th book just before new year. This is one of my favourite genres though. You can view my list of books HERE.
Summer Romance Reading Challenge - COMPLETED!
I challenged myself to read the 8 books and I did even better reading 13. Shame I didn't manage to double it and get to 16. Maybe this year? You can view my list of books HERE.
So, how did you do in 2011? Did you succeed or fail miserably?

I knew I'd fail the 100+ reading, there's no way I can manage all 100 in one year but I did get further than 2010 (that was my goal). :)
I just finished the Speculative fiction one, and came close to finishing Mystery and Suspense.
I wish I had more time and managed the Vampire Chronicles, I really want to read those books again...
I completed about half the challenges I participated in last year. One of them was actually the goal to read 100 books, even though I didn't type up 100 reviews. Others, I didn't do so well on. I had planned to read certain books last year and didn't get around to them, which left some challenges unfinished.
I'm foregoing reading challenges this year. Not because I dislike them or think I'll fail, but because I want to concentrate on other things right now when it comes to my blog. Maybe next year.
I did ok in challenges this past year... my big one was your 100 books, which I did complete (yeah!), as well as the Mystery & Suspense. Didn't do so good on any of my paranormal ones... apparently I don't read as many Urban Fantasy/Vampire/Werewolf books as I thought...
I took part in the following challenges:
100 Books in a Year: 109/100
Urban Fantasy & Horror: 54/24
Mystery & Suspense: 18/12
Stephen King: 6/6
I managed to complete all of them, which was surprising and awesome. ;)
Have a great day!
Hi - I only signed up for the Stephen King challenge - initially aiming for six books. That was easy, so I then headed for 12 books - done! I ended up reading 20 of SK's books over the year, including the Gunslinger series. I really enjoyed this - the only thing I haven't done is write the reviews! And that I might skip!
Thank you for the challenge - I enjoyed it.
That Stephen King challenge sounds good. I've only read a couple of his books but have been meaning to read more. I might be tempted to join in if there were a mini-challenge!
I pretty much failed my challenges too for 2011, well, your mystery one I did read all the books, but didn't get them all reviewed. As for everything else, not even close! Didn't stop me from signing up for more challenges in 2012 though! ;)
