‘Cover Crush’ is a regular feature here at BCC. We love covers – they’re the first thing that catches our eye and will be the primary reason we pick up a book. This feature is where we highlight gorgeous covers of books we’ve seen either around the blogosphere or at the bookshop. These posts run sporadically, as soon as we see a cover we love, we’ll post it!

CAROLYN’S COVER CRUSH

I haven’t started reading this series yet, but I do have the first book, ‘A Werewolf in Manhattan‘ on my shelf. I’ve loved all the covers in the series,
I just love the colours and the artwork. The only aspect I would say that needed a tweak would be the paranormal element, it is very, very subtle. However, I would definitely pick this up at the book shop.

Summary
Luna Reynaud has always been a lone wolf—because she’s half human. Afraid she’ll be rejected by both communities, she’s kept her secret from everyone, even the Weres she’s found a home with working on an estate in the San Juan Islands. But when her boss suddenly dies and the heir arrives, she discovers some secrets aren’t meant to be kept.

As the head of the most powerful werewolf clan in Scotland, Colin MacDowell isn’t eager to take on the responsibility of his great aunt’s estate—until he meets her sexy assistant, Luna. He thinks she’s the Were of his dreams, until he finds out she’s not. Highly opposed to bringing even half-humans into the pack, Colin knows he must resist this powerful attraction. But once aroused, a wolf’s instincts are not so easily subdued. (Goodreads)

LAURA’S COVER CRUSH

Kevin Hearne has just released the new book cover for ‘Tricked‘ book four in his Iron Druid Chronicles on Facebook and I really like it, with perhaps the exception of Atticus’s dodgy goaty! I like the fact you can see the magic in Atticus’s hand and also his amulet. It doesn’t help that I’m a big fan of the series :-)

Summary
Druid Atticus O’Sullivan hasn’t stayed alive for more than two millennia without a fair bit of Celtic cunning. So when vengeful thunder gods come Norse by Southwest looking for payback, Atticus, with a little help from the Navajo trickster god Coyote, lets them think that they’ve chopped up his body in the Arizona desert.

But the mischievous Coyote is not above a little sleight of paw, and Atticus soon finds that he’s been duped into battling bloodthirsty desert shapeshifters called skinwalkers. Just when the Druid thinks he’s got a handle on all the duplicity, betrayal comes from an unlikely source. If Atticus survives this time, he vows he won’t be fooled again. Famous last words.

Great post. Really love the covers. Although I do agree about the goatee for Tricked. Sorry, just not working for me. I haven't even been paying much attention to covers yet :( . But one I do like is the new Carrie Vaughn book cover. They are always amazing. Great post again, thank you :)
