I realise that Book Chick City is a book review site but I wanted to post something personal today as a tribute to my father-in-law who was a lovely dad, husband and to everyone he met, a good friend.
Brian was diagnosed with cancer over the Christmas period and was told it had spread significantly. We thought there may be a chance of chemo but sadly he deteriorated and passed away early this morning. The family is of course devastated and we can’t believe he was taken so soon. We only had two weeks with him but luckily we all managed to say our goodbyes and tell him how much we loved him.
Brian was a lovely man, and although not my dad was very special to me and I will miss him deeply. So this is my tribute to you, Brian, the best father-in-law a girl could ask for. You were kind, loving and always supportive of everything I did. You will always be in my thoughts and my heart. I hope you are now at peace and walking along the shore watching the ships sail by with Mickey up on your shoulders. I will miss you and love you forever… xxx

Due to our loss I will not be blogging for a couple of weeks and any dates scheduled for author guest posts will be rescheduled. However, there will still be plenty of content as Laura has lots of reviews and other goodies for you, which will resume next Monday.

Sorry for your loss. My father passed away in December of 2010 and was diagnosed with his cancer in 2008 between Thanksgiving & Christmas.

So sorry to hear your sad news, can identify very closely with this as I found out just before Christmas that after 3 years , breast cancer has returned and needed an urgent mastectomy, quite a shock for us all, hopefully it will now be contained, twicw in 3 years is a worry though. I know your loss was sudden and unexpected but cancer can make people very ill over time. at least you were all spared that, you are in my thoughts,
