‘Cover Crush’ is a regular feature here at BCC. We love covers – they’re the first thing that catches our eye and will be the primary reason we pick up a book. This feature is where we highlight gorgeous covers of books we’ve seen either around the blogosphere or at the bookshop. These posts run sporadically, as soon as we see a cover we love, we’ll post it!
CAROLYN’S COVER CRUSH
I’ve read the first two books in the Kate Daniels series and I’m enjoying it, although it’s not one of my favourites yet. I haven’t particularly liked the US covers, but this one I love! The chick looks simply badass – I love her stance, her hair, her gun and the colours - fiery and warm. Love it.
Gunmetal Magic ~ Kate Daniels #5.5
Some people have everything figured out — Andrea Nash is not one of those people. After being kicked out of the Order of Knights of Merciful Aid, Andrea’s whole existence is in shambles. All she can do is try to put herself back together, something made easier by working for Cutting Edge, a small investigative firm owned by her best friend, Kate Daniels.
When several shapeshifters working for Raphael Medrano — the male alpha of Clan Bouda and Andrea’s former lover — die unexpectedly at a dig site, Andrea is assigned to investigate … and must work with Raphael. As her search for the killer leads her into the secret underbelly of supernatural Atlanta, Andrea knows that dealing with her feelings for Raphael might have to take a backseat to saving the world … (Goodreads)
LAURA’S COVER CRUSH
I think this cover is just beautiful, it’s soft and pretty and strong all at the same time. It’s almost got a soft focus look to it. I’m a particular fan of the tattoo on her back and how it is also the illustration for the book title.
Eternal Starling ~ Emblem of Eternity of #1
Release Date: December 2011
Publisher: Pendrell Publishing
Evie Starling has lived a relatively uneventful life hanging out with friends, gossiping about boys, and driving her 1966 Mustang. All of that changes when she moves to Gunnison, Colorado, to start college and meets two mysterious men.
For centuries, Alex Night and Emil Stone have yearned for Evie—but they each have their own reasons for wanting to be with her. When both men claim to be her soul mate and tell her about an unbelievable past, Evie learns that she’s not the person she thought she was. Soon, Evie finds herself in the middle of an age-old battle between the Amaranthine Society—the soul protectors, and the Daevos Resistance—the soul destroyers. With a past she doesn’t understand, and a future rife with danger, Evie has to decide who she can trust. But Alex and Emil aren’t the only ones who want Evie, and her soul is about to become the rope in an eternal tug-of-war. (Goodreads)
