CAROLYN’S WISHLIST

I’ve just started the second book in this series and I’m really enjoying it. Looking forward to getting my hands on the third instalment, but July does seem a long way off…

Grave Memory (Alex Craft #3)
Kalayna Price (Berkley UK | Roc US)
Publication Date: July 2012
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Buy Your Copy: Amazon UK | US

Summary:

As a Grave Witch, Alex solves murders by raising the dead. While she’s always been on friendly terms with Death himself, lately things have become a lot more personal. But the personal takes a backseat to the professional when a string of suicides occur in Nekros City. The shades have no memory of the days leading up to their brutal endings, so despite the very apparent suicides, this is murder. And searching for the answers might mean Alex won’t have a life to remember at all… (Goodreads)
This looks awesome! You know me and zombies ;D I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of this fab looking anthology. Lots of great contributing authors and I’m loving the cover too!

21st Century Dead
Ed. by Christopher Golden (St. Martin’s Griffin)

Buy Your Copy: AmazonUK | US

The author of the acclaimed, eclectic anthology The New Dead, returns with 21st Century Dead, and an all new lineup of authors from all corners of the fiction world, shining a dark light on our fascination with tales of death and resurrection… with ZOMBIES! The stellar lineup of contributors for this new volume includes: Orson Scott Card, China Mieville, Simon R. Green, Daniel H. Wilson, Elizabeth Hand, Dan Chaon, Jonathan Maberry, Duane Swiercyznski, Caitlin Kittredge, Brian Keene, Amber Benson, S.G. Browne, Thomas E. Sniegoski, and, with his first published prose, Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter. (Goodreads)
LAURA’S WISHLIST

This book looks delightfully spooky, I haven’t read a good horror in a little while.

Speed Dating With The Dead
Scott Nicholson (Haunted Computer Books)
Publication Date: June 2010
Genre: Horror
Buy Your Copy: Amazon UK | US

Summary:

Keep both hands on your pants, because Nicholson is about to scare them off.”– J.A. Konrath/Jack Kilborn.

A paranormal conference at the most haunted hotel in the Southern Appalachian mountains… a man’s promise to his late wife that he’d summon her spirit… a daughter whose imagination goes to dark places… and demonic evil lurking in the remote hotel’s basement, just waiting to be awoken.

When Digger Wilson brings his paranormal team Spirit Seekers International to the White Horse Inn, he is skeptical that his dead wife will keep her half of the bargain. He doesn’t believe in ghosts. But when one of the conference guests channels a mysterious presence and an Ouija board spells out a pet phrase known only to Digger and his wife, his convictions are challenged.

And when people start to disappear, Digger and his daughter Kendra must face the circle of demons that view the hotel as their personal playground. Because soon the inn will be closing for good, angels can’t be trusted, and demons don’t like to play alone… (Goodreads)

I came across this novel on Goodreads, I’ve not come across it before but it looks to be a bit of a fantasy classic. I also love stories about King Arthur, so it really appeals.
The Mists of Avalon (Avalon #1)
Marion Zimmer Bradley (Ballantine Books)
Publication Date: April 1984
Genre: Fantasy
Buy Your Copy: Amazon UK | US

Summary:

A Literary Guild Featured Alternate Here is the magical legend of King Arthur, vividly retold through the eyes and lives of the women who wielded power from behind the throne. A spellbinding novel, an extraordinary literary achievement, THE MISTS OF AVALON will stay with you for a long time to come…. (Goodreads)

So, that’s what’s on our wishlist this week – what’s on yours?

I have the first 2 Alex Craft books to read, hoping to get to them very very soon! Love the cover for book 3, as well. :)

Glad I'm not the only one coveting anthologies at the moment. Haha. That one will have to be added to the pile.

And Mist of Avalon! Me too! It sounds wonderful and I've been meaning to read it for yeeears. I had a copy but it was second hand and so well loved that it would have been awkward to read. I also found it in the library but time. Bleh. Alex Craft first ;)
