On My Wishlist (#109)

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It’s where we list all the books we desperately want but haven’t actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. It’s also an event that you can join in with too – Mr Linky is always at the ready for you to link your own ‘On My Wishlist’ post. If you want to know more click here.

When I first saw this cover, I honestly thought it was an urban fantasy. Obviously I hadn’t read the summary, as I’ve since come to learn it’s actually a romantic suspense – but I’m just gonna buy it on the cover alone as I really like.

Midnight Rescue (Killer Instincts #1)
Elle Kennedy (Signet Eclipse)
Publication Date: May 2012
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Buy Your Copy: Amazon UK | US

Adopted by an army ranger, Abby Sinclaire was molded into a master of self-defense. Now, she’s an assassin using raw nerve to always come out on top. Her latest assignment is to snuff out a dangerous arms dealer hiding in the underground Colombian sex trade. When the sting goes wrong, mercenary Kane Woodland is recruited as back-up. But their unexpected primal attraction could put them both at risk. Their only rule:get out of that hellhole alive. (Goodreads)
I love the look of this book – I think I prefer this cover to the first in the series, which I have waiting on my shelf to read – nope I haven’t read it yet, but that didn’t stop me from adding this one to my list!

Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues (White Trash Zombie #2)
Diana Rowland (DAW)
Publication Date: July 2012
Genre: Urban Fantasy, Zombies
Buy Your Copy: AmazonUK | US

Angel is starting to settle into this whole “being a zombie” thing, but her problems are far from over. Her felony record is coming back to haunt her, more zombie hunters are popping up, and she’s beginning to wonder if her hunky cop-boyfriend is involved with the zombie mafia. Yeah, that’s right — the zombie mafia. Throw in a government conspiracy and a secret lab, and Angel’s going to need all of her brainpower — and maybe a brain smoothie as well — in order to get through it without falling apart. (Goodreads)

I love the sound of this romance, it sounds beautiful and enchanting. Definitely one for my bookshelves.

Merely Magic
Patricia Rice (Signet)
Publication Date: June 2000
Genre: Historical Romance
Buy Your Copy: Amazon UK | US

With exhilarating wit, sensuality, and emotion, bestselling author Patricia Rice offers an enchanting historical romance. When a magical young woman meets a dark aristocrat in a moonlit forest, neither dreams that a strange and powerful love is about to change their lives forever….Goodreads)
The summary of this book sounds positively fascinating, apocalypse and angels and demons. This sounds like a great read!
Bloodring (Rogue Mage #1)
Faith Hunter (Roc)
Publication Date: November 2006
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Buy Your Copy: Amazon UK | US

In a novel filled with lush imagery and exhilarating action, Faith Hunter creates a near-future world caught in the throes of an ambiguous apocalypse-where a woman with everything to hide finds her true destiny revealed.
As humanity struggles with religious strife and seraphs and demons fight a never-ending battle, a new species has arisen. “Neomages” are human in appearance, but able to twist left-over creation energy to their will. A threat to both humans and seraphs, they are confined in luxurious Enclaves.
Thorn St. Croix is no ordinary neomage. Nearly driven insane by her powers, she is smuggled out of an Enclave and now lives among humans, channeling her gift of stone-magery into jewelry making. But when Thaddeus Bartholomew, a dangerously attractive policeman, tells her that her ex-husband has been kidnapped, Thorn risks revealing her identity to find him. And for Thorn, the punishment for revelation is death. (Goodreads)
So, that’s what’s on our wishlist this week – what’s on yours?
