Hi everyone! Welcome to the new and improved Book Chick City. We are now with WordPress, self-hosting which will hopefully give us much more scope and make the website easier for you to navigate and easier on the eyes.
We absolutely love our new look, which better reflects the genres we love and review. We will no longer be reviewing genres such as historical and contemporary romance, but be focusing on all things paranormal.
So, we say goodbye to the old Book Chick and hello to the new (slightly badass) Book Chick – I hope you like her new outfit and accessories!

OLD DESIGN
Tawni from Forever Studio Designs is responsible for the fab new layout. Tawni didn’t just design the new layout, but accepted my numerous emails and my OCD personality and perfectionism with friendly professionalism, and not only gave me my vision for Book Chick City, but also helped with all the niggles that migrating from Blogger to WordPress threw up. Tawni is a talented lady and was able to do everything I asked of her. So a HUGE thank you goes to her – I LOVE my new design, thanks so much Tawni.
I must also mention Lauren from Burke Vector who is the illustrator of the banner. Tawni had an amazing image to work with, and I thank Lauren for updating it and making it look even more awesome than it was previously.
There is a bit of tidying up to do still, mainly due to the poor code blogger left me with, so you will see a few missing images or images that aren’t quite aligned, also a few links need updating and rafflecopter widget for giveaways, but I’m working on getting those fixed as soon as possible.
I hope you enjoy navigating the site and love the new design layout as much as I do.

WOW. Can I just say that this new design is absolutely FABULOUS? The gun is pretty swish. Loving the slightly badass touch.
And the bottom banner? LOVING IT.

The new design is awesome!!! Very well done! Do you like wordpress more the blogger? I’ve noticed a lot of fellow bloggers switching over to wordpress. Do you know why? Just curious. Again, the design and theme is awesome!!!!

Sorry for not getting back to you Sophia, but I didn’t check my emails. We had the company you recommended do the move and they were great. Yesterday was all about the blog – pretty stressful actually. BCC is my baby LOL But can relax now as all went well

The new design looks fab Carolyn! Congrats!
I just have on but crucial question: why did you decide to move to WP? I see more and more people migrate there and as a fellow Blogger user I wonder to the reasons why. Did you have any problem with Blogger?

Thank you! Basically Blogger just didn’t have the coding capabilities that WP offers me. I would add things and they would be all over the place, which meant I would have to change the code myself. It would also put numerous spaces in between paragraphs for no reason so there was a huge gap. There are so many reasons I can’t really list them all here, I’m just VERY happy I’ve moved.

Thanks! Glad you like it! I know what you mean, I was SOOOO nervous and stressed yesterday but it really wasn’t too bad. Everything switched over smoothly. But I did use a company to do it, I didn’t do it myself. It was expensive but worth it to me
