At the tender age of 27, Merit became a sword-wielding vampire. Since then, she’s become the protector of her House, watched Chicago nearly burn to the ground, and seen her Master fall and rise. Now she’ll see her mettle—and her metal – tested like never before.

But as they untangle a web of secret alliances and ancient evils, they realize their foe is more familiar, and more powerful, than they could have ever imagined.
CAROLYN’S THOUGHTS
I really love this cover. It’s one of the best in the series in my opinion, along with the cover for Biting Cold. I really like the red of her top and font against the creepy dark background, and the glimmer of her sword is a really nice touch.
LAURA’S THOUGHTS
Ooh, this is a good one! I do have a soft spot for red contrast on my book covers though. Which means I’m loving the colour of her too and the book’s title. The gothic feel to the haunted looking house in the background is great as is the shimmer across her sword. A great cover!

Me too. I think they’ve done a great job with this one.

Kick ass heroines are always a good thing!

Yup I also agree with Carolyn’s “best in the series” comment.
I love the model’s stance and how tough she looks. Also the red is also nice.

I like her stance as well, and I always like my UF heroines to look tough LOL so this cover would definitely make me want to read the book. Although, after the last book I read in the series, I’m not so sure I want to carry on with it…

I think it’s the best of the series too. Although HARD BITTEN is good too
