Last week I attended Piatkus Books’ Afternoon Tea with a few other bloggers, including Vivienne from Serendipity Reviews, Sarah from Feeling Fictional and Grete and Tracey from Book Thing *it was lovely to see you all again*. We were shown a short presentation of what books Piatkus has coming up for Autumn/Winter 2012 and I can tell you there’s lots of fab books coming your way!
Piatkus is home to many authors you have probably heard of or even have already read, but if not here are a few of the international bestselling authors Piatkus has on their books: For urban fantasy and paranormal romance genre: Sherrilyn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, JR Ward, Keri Arthur, Thea Harrison and Jacquelyn Frank. For historical romance: Lisa Kleypas, Gaelen Foley, Eloisa James. Other authors include Linda Howard and Mariah Stewart.
Piatkus also launched a new imprint called Piatkus Entice on Valentine’s Day this year, which I also posted about in February. This is an ebook-first list and they already have quite a list of authors as well as a good mix of romance sub-genres.
Take a look at the following selection of books that I think look great.

PARANORMAL ROMANCE
Mark of the Vampires – Laura Wright
A new vampire paranormal romance series about a band of warrior brothers: Eternal Hunger, Eternal Kiss, Eternal Captive. The series was released at the beginning of this year, but I thought it looked great so wanted to mention it, I can’t wait to read it. Piatkus Entice has also released an e-Novella, Eternal Blood.

Lair of the Lion – Christine Feehan
A gothic twist to the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Best. A 19th century paranormal romance. This is already available as an e-book from Piatkus Entice, with the paperback out in October 2012.

Dark Hunter – Sherrilyn Kenyon
Piatkus will be publishing the 22nd instlament in Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series, Time Untime in August this year. All Dark Hunter titles will be abailable in their new cover style in time for Christmas 2012. The Curse, the 3rd instlament in the Belador Code series will be out this September.

Elder Races – Thea Harrison
The Elder Races is a paranormal romance series with dragons, wyrs, werewolves. Dragon Bound and Storm’s Heart, the first and second in the series respectively are out now, with Serpent’s Kiss publishied in July and Lord’s Fall in November this year. I’ve read the first book and loved it!

Lords of Deliverance – Larissa Ione
I read and loved the first book in this paranormal romance series, Eternal Rider. Books two and three, Immortal Rider and Lethal Rider, are out now with the fourth instalment, Rogue Rider, out this November. I can’t wait. I love these covers, but when you see them all side by side, aren’t they just gorgeous.

The next book from Eloisa James is the fourth instalment of her Regency historical romance, The Ugly Duchess with a fairytale twist on The Ugly Duckling. From Gaelen Foloey comes My Scandalous Viscount the fifth book in the Inferno Club series, (I love this series), which is out this coming September (Can’t wait for this one).

CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE
Mariah Stewart’s Chesapeake Diaries
This series was released on Piatkus Entice list in Spring 2012. Paperbacks are to follow this September. Piatkus describes the author as “perfect reading for fans of Nora Roberts… Mariah’s writing is warm, romantic and uplifting.”

EROTIC ROMANCE
This is a genre I haven’t really delved in to much. But since reading Fifty Shades of Grey I am more open to reading books in this genre. Piatkus Entice has just released a large selection of erotic romance novels and I will definitely be taking a look at a few of these. Worst cover though? Definitely Searching for Sex – the all in one bra is not a good look!

I had a lot of fun at this event, although I will admit I was hoping for a little more urban fantasy, and maybe a few new authors within my favourite genres, but overall Piatkus has some great looking books coming up.
Thanks to PIATKUS BOOKS for organising the event, the yummy food and drink, and some fab books!

Have to admit, I’m salvating at the next Eloisa James Fairytale book! The draft cover looks lovely. Shame it won’t fit into my US covers (OCD coming out again!)
