NEW SERIES ALERT: Fever World by Karen Marie Moning
NEW SERIES ALERT
If you follow Karen Marie Moning on Twitter of Facebook, you may have been aware of this new series for a little while. But just in case you missed it, I had to share it with you! I absolutely adore pretty much everything Moning has ever written. From the romances of her Highlander series, to the darkly seductive world of Mac and Barrons and her Fever books. Each one has had me well and truly hooked. I was so sad when SHADOWFEVER finished as it was the end of a killer series. So I have been waiting with anticipation to see what she would do next.
Moning is currently working on a Fever spin-off with Dani O’Malley as the lead. I don’t know that Dani was my favourite of her characters, but she did have lots of spunk that will certainly make it fun! I love that Ryodan looks to have a rather hot part in it too. I think it will also give us some insight into the Fever story when Mac was out of things. As well as the addictive writing I have come to love so much from Moning. I so cannot wait for ICED to be released, it has me super excited!
If you can’t wait until October you will find some sneak excerpts on her Facebook page!
Plus… how awesome is the book cover?!

THE SERIES: Fever World
BOOK #1: Iced
PUBLISHER: Delacorte Press | RELEASE DATE: Oct 2012 | GENRE: Urban Fantasy
The year is 1 AWC—After the Wall Crash. The Fae are free and hunting us. It’s a war zone out there, and no two days are alike. I’m Dani O’Malley, the chaos-filled streets of Dublin are my home, and there’s no place I’d rather be.
Dani “Mega” O’Malley plays by her own set of rules—and in a world overrun by Dark Fae, her biggest rule is: Do what it takes to survive. Possessing rare talents and the all-powerful Sword of Light, Dani is more than equipped for the task. In fact, she’s one of the rare humans who can defend themselves against the Unseelie. But now, amid the pandemonium, her greatest gifts have turned into serious liabilities.
Dani’s ex–best friend, MacKayla Lane, wants her dead, the terrifying Unseelie princes have put a price on her head, and Inspector Jayne, the head of the police force, is after her sword and will stop at nothing to get it. What’s more, people are being mysteriously frozen to death all over the city, encased on the spot in sub-zero, icy tableaux.
When Dublin’s most seductive nightclub gets blanketed in hoarfrost, Dani finds herself at the mercy of Ryodan, the club’s ruthless, immortal owner. He needs her quick wit and exceptional skill to figure out what’s freezing Fae and humans dead in their tracks—and Ryodan will do anything to ensure her compliance.
Dodging bullets, fangs, and fists, Dani must strike treacherous bargains and make desperate alliances to save her beloved Dublin—before everything and everyone in it gets iced.

THE AUTHOR
KAREN MARIE MONING began her career writing paranormal romance set in Scotland but as she became increasingly fascinated with Celtic mythology, she switched genres to Urban Fantasy and location to Dublin, Ireland, so she could focus on the Tuatha de Danann, or Fae–an ancient race of immortal beings who have lived secretly among humans for millennia.
Moning is currently completing a graphic novel for Del Rey, featuring an original story about MacKayla Lane and Jericho Barrons, and has contracted with Random House Publishing Group for three more books set in the Fever universe. She divides her time between the mountains of Georgia and the beaches of Florida. (Author website)

Not sure if you know this, but I’m sure I heard there was going to be more books in the fever series. I’m not going to pick this up as I didn’t like Dani and I was disapointed bySHADOWFEVER.

There is. I read it on her Facebook page. She’ll be writing another 2/3 books I think, so all is not over just yet

Maybe she realised how few plotlines were resolved. I was one unhappy bunny

Ooh more books, I must have missed that… How exciting
SHADOWFEVER was a massive book, there were a few threads left open but it was a 5/5 for me.

Have had Moning recommended to me but never read any of her books yet. Worth it?

Moning is one of my favourite authors, you should definitely check her out! For urban fantasy the Fever series is awesome, and for PNR I love her highlanders. Honestly brilliant reads.
