My name’s Markowski. I carry a badge. Also, a crucifix, some wooden stakes, a big vial of holy water, and a 9mm Beretta loaded with silver bullets. A new supernatural gang is intent on invading Scranton – as if I didn’t have enough to contend with! Supernatural gang warfare? Not on my watch! GEMMA’S THOUGHTS
This cover is very graphic novel like and reminds me of the movie A Scanner Darkly, in that it is almost comic in its composition. It’s a funny cover, but I don’t dislike it. For me it comes across as a bit “cheap” looking. Its a shame because when you really look at the cover, it has a lot going on in it. I like the fact that you have caught the moment that what appears to be a car, has hit someone. I’m undecided whether this is a human, supernatural or a zombie, but it is clever. I also like what looks to me to be a pair of eyes in the rear view mirror. You can’t make out the face but it is rather eerie.
I’m not overly fond of the two male figures that seem to be floating in the middle of space. Are they in the cars path? Is this the crime scene they have come across? If I saw this book on a shelve, I am not sure if I would pick it up. Maybe out of curiosity, I would but it wouldn’t be my first choice. However, it does fit in well with the other books in the series
CAROLYN’S THOUGHTS
I’m not a fan of this cover. I don’t really know if the two men have just smashed that guys head on the windscreen and it’s his blood dripping down, or if it’s actually a supernatural creature, such as a zombie, with its face crushed against the glass. I also don’t like the inside of the car filling up half the book cover, how dull. I suppose it does beg the question, who’s in the car looking out? This cover wouldn’t get me to pick it up in a bookshop. It’s very masculine in its colouring and blandness, and as Gemma says, it looks a bit cheap. Thumbs down on this one.

I’m not sure I would say thumbs down. It does kind of fit the series, although I do find it a bit gruesome. I agree that the tow background figures just seem too close, but overall I don’t hate it.

It just wouldn’t entice me to pick it up, but I get what you are saying.

No, it’s definitely a thumbs down for me. Wouldn’t even consider buying/reading this if I saw it in bookshop. It just doesn’t do it for me LOL
