MEET THE BOYS OF THE BLACK DAGGER BROTHERHOOD: Welcome Post + Enter to Win LOVER AT LAST (ends 31/03/13)

Hello everyone, welcome to our Meet the Boys of the Black Dagger Brotherhood event, where this March we celebrate J.R. Ward’s seriously hot and deadly, vampire warriors.

I first entered into the world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood on my holidays last June. After many, many, many, many (you get the idea!) enthusiastic recommendations from fellow reviewers Vickie and Gemma, I downloaded the first three onto my Kindle.

I’m personally always a bit nervous about reading books people have recommended because they really, really love them, and you may get that moment when you pick them up and think… ‘Huh? What’s all the fuss about?’ Thankfully I didn’t get that moment! And like Vickie and Gemma before me, I fell I love with those BDB boys. My journey and our shared enthusiasm on Twitter also encouraged both Rebecca and Melanie to pick up the series too.

It’s taken me nine months, reading them around my normal review schedule, but I’ve now read them all, leading up to the much anticipated release of Lover At Last.… God, I so can’t wait to pick it up!!

Now don’t get me wrong, this series has its quirks. The names for starters – Vishous, Zsadist, Payne, Tohrment – they’re pretty awful and they’re spelt wrong *shudder*. Then there’s the language, if I had a swear jar for every time the word ‘shitkickers’ is mentioned I think it would have paid for me to buy the entire series all over again! And don’t get me started on the acronyms…

But, niggles aside, pretty much all the books have been un-put-downable. Pacy, well written, dark, with characters that totally absorb you, many a night I found myself reading much later than I planned desperate to find out what happened next.

I hope you enjoy the reviews, I will also be pulling in Gemma and Vickie and some of the other BCC ladies for a couple of fun discussion posts along the way too…. it wouldn’t be right without them now would it! For those of you not into the series (I don’t believe you exist ), don’t worry we’ll still be posting normal reviews throughout the month too.

I, too, cringe at the names, and the constant naming of Brand Names and “shitkickers” and all of that….and yet they are like CANDY. I can’t put them down. Would love to win this one! Thanks!

Good luck everyone! For all of you who haven’t started the series I would recommend you start with Dark Lover the first in the series first and reading through as these book wouldn’t really work read out of order.

I love the BDB series, some books more than other though, in particular I love and have reread Zsadist’s book far too many times to mention my copy looks completly dog eared!

I’m not a huge fan of the sections written from the Lessers point of view but I love the boys of the BDB! I can’t wait to read Blay and Quinn’s story, I think it’s one of my most anticipated romance books ever

I would love to win this book. I just began reading the series. My friend had the first four books of the series and she gave them to me. I love the series so far and I would love to get more books to the series. I have been trying to get my hands on as many books as possible since I’ve been spending day and night at the hospital with my mom who’s sick with cancer. I’m not allowed to have my phone in her room. If I could I would listen to an audio book or something. I have been entering giveaway after giveaway trying to win books and accumulate as many books as I can. I am especially hoping to win the box of books because that would tie me over for awhile. I have never heard any of the authors except Cat Adams but I’ve never read anything by her. Don’t be surprised if you don’t see my name a lot. I think I will be reading a lot (as if I don’t for quite awhile so I need books. I love reading, even books for the younger gender, YA books, but I especially love urban and paranormal fantasy books.

Why do I want to win? Because I spend far too much on buying books – not that this is likely to stop, but you can never have too many books, right? Free ones are a total bonus! (And this sounds like a fab series!)

I had to laugh about the ‘shitkickers’ overkill. I so agree! I con’t even know what they look like. And the language of the ‘brothers’ is at times over the top at times to me. But I’m still a devoted addict and I figure I deserve a copy of Lover at Last too. I’ve been waiting for Quinn’s story forever.

I have been seeing these books everywhere but I have yet to start reading this series. I really want to try it out but I have been so busy reading everything else I can get my hands on I just have not had the chance to buy them. Sad I know. I love to read, It is my passion and I’m a weirdo and feel it’s important to be able to hold the book in my hand and also support the author by buying the books. Which I then enjoy displaying my book collection throughout my house. So if I win, I will have to go buy the previous books in this series before reading and reviewing the giveaway. Fingers crossed! X

I might killover if I was to win Lover at Last. I absolutely love the WARDen’s BDB world. Every Brother;s story has been the BOMB, but I’m especially anxious for LaL because Qhuay has been five years in the making, and their time is finally here. The wait has been killing me. I so want to know how things are going to pan out for everyone. =D

I am dying for this book. I love the brothers, especially Vishous. Plus I think Blah and Quinn and gonna be the hottest thing together. It is gonna burn the pages of this book. I love M/M storylines. Two guys together is hot and even hotter I’d they are sexy.
