Cover Crush is a regular feature here at BCC. I love covers – they’re the first thing that catches my eye and will be the primary reason I pick up a book. This feature is where I highlight gorgeous covers of books I’ve seen either around the blogosphere or at the bookshop. These posts run sporadically, as soon as I see a cover I love, I post it! •••••••••••••••••••••• This is the gorgeous cover for the 6th book in the Anna Strong Vampire Chronicles by Jeanne C. Stein. Paul Magrs - The Bride That Time Forgot

I just found the cover for the The Bride That Time Forgot, the 5th instalment of the Brenda & Effie Paranormal Mystery series by Paul Magrs on his blog and I love it. I really like all the little details like the spider webs, clock hands and the title is so cute – I still think I like the covers for Something Borrowed and Conjugal Rites more, but I do think this cover captures the essence of the story and it’s quirkiness. I adore the Brenda & Effie series, it…

These covers are for the US editions of Walter Jon Williams cyperpunk novels, This Is Not A Game and Deep State. I think they are pretty great and would buy these books in a heart beat if I saw them in a shop. Luckily, I already have This Is Not A Game to review, but sadly it’s the UK edition with a rather boring cover. So, what do you guys think? Would these covers entice you to buy these books? This Is Not A Game Walter Jon Williams Orbit Jan…

Bloodshot is the first book in a new series,The Cheshire Red Reports, by Cherie Priest. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a summary but as soon as there is one I will add it here. I think the cover is fab – I absolutely love it! The chick looks like she’s a pretty tough cookie – just my kind of gal I can’t wait to find out what the book’s about, but as it’s Urban Fantasy I’m sure I will like it. So, what do you think? Bloodshot (The Cheshire Red Reports…

This is the cover for a new fantasy/steampunk series, Spiritwalker by Kate Elliott from Orbit, with Cold Magic being book 1, to be released this September. I like this cover a lot, it’s very pleasing to the eye – I like the font, and the gold swirl gives it a magical feel and the machinery in the background hints at the steampunk elements. I think the cover also gives a young adult vibe to the book, although I’m not sure if it is YA. You can find more information on…

The Legend of Eli Monpress by Rachel Aaron is a new series which has come to my attention and I must say it does sound intriguing. I think all the covers are very nice. Check out the Orbit website for more information. So, what do you think – you like? The Spirit Thief Rachel Aaron Oct 2010 Orbit Summary Eli Monpress…

Cover Crush Banner

Isn’t this cover just absolutely gorgeous?! I think the font is just so pretty. Knight Angels: Book of Love by Abra Ebner is the first in a new young adult series and I must say it does sound very good. Once I had read the summary, I realised that this book is a paranormal, but to me the cover suggests ‘real life’ and as I like my YA with a paranormal theme I nearly passed this book by, but after reading the summary, I WANT THIS BOOK! So, what do…

This is the new cover to Keys to the Repository, a Blue Bloods short story collection by Melissa de la Cruz. I love it and think it is much better than the US cover (sorry guys). The only thing I would say is that the girl looks ‘airbrushed’ quite a bit, but I love the skyline and the overall effect – it’s actually quite striking. So what do you guys think – you likey? Keys to the Repository Melissa de la Cruz 29 June 2010 ATOM Summary Lavish parties. Passionate…

Yesterday Little Brown UK announced that Sherrilyn Kenyon has a new UK website (make sure you check it out as it’s fab!). They also mentioned that she has a new young adult series coming soon, with the first book, Infinity being published by their imprint Atom. I asked and was sent the cover for Infinity. Orbit revealed the cover for the upcoming Jaz Parks novel by Jennifer Rardin and I really like it. I like all of the Jaz Parks covers and this one fits in nicely with the collection, although the covers for Another One Bites the Dust and Biting the Bullet are still my favs. Bitten in Two is the 7th book in the series. So, do you like it? Bitten in Two Jennifer Rardin Orbit Summary Jaz Parks here. I. Am. Pissed. Just as Vayl and I arrive in Morocco to secure…

During the brilliant Headline party, we were shown a presentation of upcoming books and BULLET was among them. It was my first glimpse of the gorgeous new cover and now I can show it to you! I love it. I must say I think all the UK covers for the newly published Anita Blake series by Headline are much better than the US editions. I still have to re-read the first ten books of the series and complete the rest (for my Anita Blake Reading Challenge) before getting my hands…

This is the GORGEOUS new cover for the second book in the Fallen series, Torment, by Lauren Kate. I absolutely *love* it! I really enjoyed Fallen, so can’t wait to read the next installment.
