Last week I attended Piatkus Books’ Afternoon Tea with a few other bloggers, including Vivienne from Serendipity Reviews, Sarah from Feeling Fictional and Grete and Tracey from Book Thing *it was lovely to see you all again*. We were shown a short presentation of what books Piatkus has coming up for Autumn/Winter 2012 and I can tell you there’s lots of fab books coming your way! Piatkus is home to many authors you have probably heard of or even have already read, but if not here are a few of the…
On the 13th May I was invited to my second Headline’s Blogger’s Party. It was lovely to see all the publicists again and have a chat. Sadly, I didn’t get to speak to everyone as there were quite a few authors and bloggers who attended. When we arrived we were shown a brilliant presentation of upcoming Headline books, including urban fantasy, HIT LIST by Laurell K. Hamilton (Anita Blake #20); YA paranormal, CRYPT: THE GALLOW’S CURSE by Andrew Hammond and paranormal romance, AVENGER’S ANGEL by Heather Killough-Walden – all of…
On May 12th I was invited to Little Brown HQ in London to meet the publicists and editors at Piatkus, a commercial imprint within LB, who I’ve been in contact with and emailing for some time regarding books to review on BCC. It was really great to finally meet Donna, Paola, Maddy and Lucy, and all the other lovely ladies at Piatkus. I met lots of bloggers too including Sarah from Feeling Fictional and Vivienne from Serendipity. Photo Courtesy of Sarah at Feeling Fictional The LB offices are just gorgeous…

A couple of weeks ago I attended the first blogger/publisher get-together at Simon and Schuster. It was great meeting up again with Jenny from Wondrous Reads (who I met first to have a book natter), Liz from My Favourite Books, Sophie from So Many Books, So Little TIme, Sassy from Alternative Reads, among others. I also got to meet the lovely Ally (Marketing/Web Manager) who I email on a regular basis, especially with regards to the Thriller & Suspense Reading Challenge I’m hosting. Sophie, Me, Sassy & Jenny Jenny, Liz…
On Saturday, during the Easter break, I attended Odyssey 2010 (aka eastercon). This was my second convention and it had a lot to live up to after I had attended World Horror Con the weekend before. On arriving we (my hubby and I – yes, I dragged him to another con – well, he’s so good at carrying all the books!) picked up our registration badges and goodie bags (which were very stingy and didn’t come close to the awesomeness of WHC!) then made our way to the bar (for…
Since I found out that World Horror Con was coming to Europe for the first time and it was being held in a town only a couple of hours drive from me, (Brighton), I knew I had to get tickets. Unfortunately I left it too late and when I went to buy them the event was sold out. Luckily they had a waiting list and I was number 21. Most of the peeps on Twitter thought it was unlikely that I would get tickets, but a week or so before…
I was invited, along with lots of other bloggers, to attend a presentation/party at Headline. I was thrilled, to say the least. So, just to warn you this post is going to be of a gushing nature. It will also be very long, but please bare with me. When I arrived in London I met up with Jenny (Wondrous Reads) and Carla (The Crooked Shelf) *who are absolutely adorable and so much fun*. As I came in on the underground and they both came into the main station, which are…
